Look. I feel like I repeat this on so many threads because that 5% of arrogant Canada fans are a loud bunch.

Canada has the best roster still but the gap is getting much closer. Hopefully Olympics has nhl players because I think it will be a hotly contested tournament.

I will also say that 5% do not represent the fan base. They tend to ruin threads to be honest.

This Canada team is not a Z team. They answered Canada s call to play in a bubble environment and battled adversy to take the gold. They deserve the utmost respect. Coming from a finnish fan.

Hiring Gerard Gallant by now should have been the easiest decision several GM's could have made. How many teams have super young talent that is wasting away and not developing as they should. This guy has won the Royal Bank Cup, President's Cup (twice), Memorial Cup, and Clarence Campbell Bowl and now World championship. Stanley Cup is left to win......what are you waiting for GM's ?

With this victory Canada and Russia/Soviet Union are now tied with 27 Gold medals!

Canada has been a finalist in 5 out of the last 6 World Championships.

And 5 out of the last 7 World Junior Championships.

Canadian Hockey faring better than ever Internationally.

They've always been legit Gold contenders, whether it is finishing 2nd in 2004 and 2006 or 3rd in 2010 and 2014.

I guess I just mean we ve gone up a level from top to bottom. More depth than ever before at every level. But you re right. When you finish second, you are a gold medal contender. I didn't use the right words. I just mean we ve gone up a level.

Fair enough.

Didn't get to watch the game due to my work commitment, but watched highlights of the game online. Despite the poor officiating, it was great seeing the Sens connection of Logan Brown and Nick Paul end it OT to give Canada its gold medal at the WHC. That play was almost a carbon copy of where Stetcher pass it across to Mangiapane to score the OT game winner against the Russians in the Quarterfinals.

Congratulations to Team Canada on winning the World Hockey Championship after starting 0-3 that lead to a gold medal finish at the end.

Canada had 30 PIMS and somehow its the refs fault. Not a single guy on this roster would play on Canada's C team and they still won. Hats off to the boys who wore the Canadian flag with pride!

I'd say Brown probably deserved the MVP. He assisted on all 3 goals today and led the tournament in scoring. He didn't even make the all-star team. Maybe they voted before the game?
Really glad to see Nick Paul get the winner. Guy worked hard all tournament and isn't much of a lamp-lighter.

I think i agree with this.....something mysterious about what keeps Gallant to come back!

I'm glad we won Gold, but come on to the few fellow Canadians that are just being absolutely annoying with the boasting.

We won, be happy and leave it at that.
