It was always that way until this year.

It's an improvement over what it was a few years ago. Thankfully it'll get even better next year.
I know the rules, it’s just garbage. Thankfully it will, what a horrible rule that should have been fixed as soon as it was thought of.

I hate when it’s challenged when the offside was like a minute before the goal, but I’d rather get these right.

What rule? Offside?
It's a brutal rule because a few years ago they realized it was terrible how offside was called. They changed it and realized the change wasn't perfect and it's been changed again.

Next year, that will be a good goal.

Amazing call to use replay?
The biggest issue I have with coach's challenges, etc is that they shouldn't be given time to watch it on video. It should be live, like the refs see. Make the call and live with the consequence if you're wrong. First one should be loss of a timeout. Any proceeding challenge should be a penalty against.

MLB was f***ing brutal for it when it first came in. They'd literally take 5 minutes watching replays in the dugout before the game restarted.

I love the trapezoid.

It ensures that goalies can't run interference on forecheckers.

I think goalies who are great at handling the puck is a skill set, and it’s a skill set that IMO was punished by the implementation of the trapezoid in the NHL.

It was beautiful seeing Brodeur handle it for example.

Luck for Finland there was an offside. Goal doesn’t count.

It’s a stupid rule and the NHL changed it already to be a “crossing the plane” rule instead of skate on the ice.

IIHF is changing it starting next year.

Of course it plays a role in the Gold medal game.

Ridiculous if Canada doesn’t win this between that and the Anttila head snap back fake high sticking that the Finns scored on in the subsequent PP they got from it.

Takes away the shine from this game in my view.

I have no problem with goalies handling the puck provided they can be hit just like any other skater.

As it stands, they could skate out and play the puck and opposing forecheckers weren't allowed to use the body.
