I’m not against it if it’s a steal. 50% retained for Rodrigues and a 1st? I’d think about it. Throw in Sourdif or something

He hasn’t been on a good team his entire career and he’s signed for a while. RHD on the second pairing which is the biggest need now and in the future since we don’t know if Ekblad is coming back

No way he trades Samo for Jones. For Rantanen, yes. It would be something like Devine+Sourdif/Alscher probably, for a couple mil retained on Jones. I thought the move would be Jones. He's got almost the ppg Karlsson has while being far better defensively. He would look pretty good next to Mikkola.

Plus getting Jones would give us draft picks 2 and 4 from 2013 to go with 1, 2 and 4 from 2014. How can you pass that up? lol

He's a 2/3 defenseman on any team and he's a RD.

No, but he would be great depth. Then our D would be close to the level it was last year, and I think our offense is better.

I’ve watched a decent number of Blackhawks games this season. I know their team is bad, I know all of that. But he’s just not that good. The Hawks do not have cap issues yet they’re looking for any way to get rid of him, which is a bad sign.

He’s not the worst defensemen or anything, but unless they’re gonna move him for breadcrumbs, I’d look elsewhere.
