I'm not excited to see amateurs for us and professionals for nearly everyone else. Not quite Crosby Mcdavid down the middle but I, for one, am excited to see amateurs play Olympic hockey again.
NoI doubt we have a team bad enough but is there a possibility that we get relegated for next Olympics?

True, I was mostly using the term amateur because the guy I quoted did and I didn't feel like calling him out on it. But our pros in this tournament are likely to be significantly worse than those from Russia, Sweden, Finland, etc.Every player on the roster plays professional hockey.

They are for the most part top quality in their respective leagues? Russia and Finns may have the upper hand as more of their guys don't make the trip to NA.
Russia, Sweden and Finland have more guys who stay in Europe to play because they would prefer to be there than 4th liners in the NHL. Our team is guys who can no longer play in the NHL. I hope I'm wrong, and I wish them luck, but it's hard to have confidence in this group of guys. The one positive I will be interested in, will be to see if we have any standouts that get a shot to come back to the NHL because of their performance in this tournament.
Can no longer play as top 6 players in the NHL, the european players never played in those roles.
Gilbert Brule and Carey Price have made the same number of Canadian Olympic Teams.
The Blue Jackets 2005 Draft Video is no longer a disaster.
Plus Brule made more Canadian Olympic teams than Kopitar.
P.S. Favorite quotes from this video.
"Are you ******* kidding me. The Habs are taking the goalie."
"I'm happy to be a Columbus Blue Jacket, I guess" - Gilbert Brule
Without checking I think the Canucks may have the most former players on TC. Lapierre, Roy, Ebbett, Raymond, Vey, Gragnani. Anyone else have 6 or more?
Wolski - Roy - Raymond
Bourque - Brule - O’Dell
Howden - Lapierre- Kozun
Ebbett - Kelly - Klinkhammer
Vey, Thomas
Lee - Elliott
Golubef- Gragnani
Stollery - Genoway
Noreau- Robinson
Scrivens
Poulin
Peters

This isn't NHL '10 game. Just because Roy was good back then he isn't going to center the first line over actual decent players this being 2018. The fact that you healthy-scratched a guy who is over PPG in the KHL currently and put the guy who didn't really cut it in the KHL at all on the 1st line tells me you aren't really someone who should post this.Wolski - Roy - Raymond
Bourque - Brule - O’Dell
Howden - Lapierre- Kozun
Ebbett - Kelly - Klinkhammer
Vey, Thomas
Not an impressive list at all.
I would have asked for Mete, Strome, Greening and Pirri
Yeah idiotic comment. The only team better on paper is Russia and they arent even a real team.By all the other super deep talented teams in this tournament.
My first thought was: "Hey Derek, the gold medal for Diving is at the summer Olympics," but yeah.
Hopefully Russia wins, if not them then Finland.
