In fairness, they do have a player from every draft round and an undrafted guy playing in the tournament.

But they drafted 17 guys+ Myers that would be eligible for this WJC....and 11 guys made/would have made it.

That's a pretty good success rate.

Especially when Hogberg and Laberge could be there next year as well.

Yup, Högberg should be for sure (with Rubtsov and Hart too). Already SHL regular, was in consideration for this roster (played at Four Nations.)

Laberge has a shot as well for sure.

Admittedly I have a VERY small sample in which to form my opinion.......but how is Dubois a 3rd OA? I'm just not seeing it.

Honestly, Canada played decent. Russians barely had any scoring chances. Ideally, Hart should have stopped that but that's okay.

Seems like only the Jost line has any real chemistry, hope Ducharme isn't afraid to throw the other 3 lines in the blender while the tournaments young if things start to go south.

Good period. Lots of zone time but need to make something happen off the cycle. Saw a few flashes but mostly perimeter play. Take it to 'em in period 2!!

I like what I see from Canada. Jost has easily been the best player, along with Myers.

Dube's been impressive, too.

Canada typically gets a lot more offensive zone play against Russia. It is not happening as much today. Russia is playing a good D so far, and it can strike at any moment. Canada needs to generate more pressure.
