I don't know if I've ever been angrier at a player than I am at Elias Pettersson.
It had already started in little spurts over the past little bit but I can imagine it's going to be vociferous coming back from this trip.Pettersson - how long before the fans in Vancouver start booing him.
Tonight’s Game
- Didn’t connect on a 2-on-1 and also missed on a breakaway
- Anaheim then countered with a rush game
- Canucks’ players decided to abandon the game plan
- Need some guys to rise to the occasion; whether that’s a middle drive; going to the net; had shots on net where no one was going to the net
- A little disappointed in the grit part of their game
- Have guys standing at the side of the net and that won’t win hockey games
- They kinda gave in
- Hope the players don’t think they can rest on a 2-0 lead in the 1st period
- Are a desperate hockey team and need to stick to the game plan
- Had too many guys that, instead of going straight, went right or left; too much perimeter play
- Had talked about how to defend the rush and defended it wrong
Messier, Moore, Bertuzzi, McSorely, Keith, Marchand, 24-current PeteyI don't know if I've ever been angrier at a player than I am at Elias Pettersson.
Literallt said this in the GDT. I have started to get visibly upset every time he’s on the ice. Eriksson was the last time I’ve had this sort of upsetfulness.I don't know if I've ever been angrier at a player than I am at Elias Pettersson.

He’s a damn good defensive coach but I find some of his messages offensively contradictingRick always says all the right things and the on ice product never changes or seems to improve.
Idk what's up with that.
I think a lot of us feel you on that one. I keep saying to myself "Tonight will be the game he breaks out". Not only does it never happen, it seems like Pettersson's give a f@#k's are gone as if he's checked out. Tonight it looked as if he gave up.I don't know if I've ever been angrier at a player than I am at Elias Pettersson.
You've gone too farJuulsen made me less angry then ep1
Which one? :pI don't know if I've ever been angrier at a player than I am at Elias Pettersson.

Defense got better after the roster composition changed.Rick always says all the right things and the on ice product never changes or seems to improve.

Wonder if Carolina would be willing to come back to the table if they're stuck with an unsigned Rantanen in a few daysAt least with Eriksson I had tempered expectations. Pettersson has backslid in every single way, it’s unimaginable, and he’s one of the highest paid players in the league.
Doesn’t matter what changes they make to the roster, spending 11.6 on a boat anchor will sink you.
That's cause they are all number two.First caller to the Sportsnet 650 post-game show, makes a valid point. Right now the Canucks don't have a number-one center or even a number one line.
Sad but true. Pettersson, Blueger, Suter and even Chytil are playing closer to third line centers. Chytil might be a second-line center on a bad team, but not in NY, where he was definitely the third-line center.
You can't win in this league without strength down the middle. They had it last year. But now it's gone--probably for good.
This guy is *not* going to look like his old self until he gets a full healthy off-season of training, and expecting otherwise is going to leave you extremely disappointed for the next 23 games.I think a lot of us feel you on that one. I'm sorry but I am finding it tiresome. A change of scenery might be best for all parties involved.

I just keep hearing complaints from Tocchet after every loss. "The team didn't do what I wanted them to do". Well I've got new for you: It's your job to explain or teach your players how to execute your plans. You've been saying the same things for a year straight now. Either you've completely lost the room or you aren't explaining to the players how they should play. Surely not all the players on the team are too dumb to follow instructions? Even if that was the case, you'd have to simplify your game plan then.
