Please tell me this is sarcasm. :help:

It's not. This is a new era where it is taught that the responsibility is on the Checker to protect the Checkee no matter what position the Checkee puts themselves in .1 of a second before you get there.

Some folks here need to take a look at a rule book. Never has a player "turning" been a reason to negate a boarding penalty. The onus is on the checker, and this is a good example of why you don't try and take a 90° run at a player along the boards.

I highly doubt that a sober reading of the rulebook gives refs no discretionary powers when it comes to players turning their back at the last second.

And he got a two minute penalty for boarding. Move on

I'm free to comment on whatever I'd like thanks.

Read it, there's nothing in the language about a player turning. It doesn't matter if the player puts himself in a terrible spot, the onus is on the checker to not hit someone dangerously into the boards.

The player turning might be the difference between a CFB or boarding call.

Chabot hasn't looked great either. Is he supposed to be the top dman?

Well he's leading them in ice time by 4 minutes and picked up a PPA so he must be doing something right

Apart from his dumb penalty I think he's been solid

Still.....I'm seeing flashes of a lot of great things from many kids out there.

Lol at anyone who has Barzal not playing well. He's dominated.

Russia looks horrible! There has been a lot of talk about the defense being improved, but you would never know it by the trouncing from Sweden and now tonight. The people who picked Russia to be eliminated in the QF (if they make it that far) are looking pretty good right now.
