WC: Canada 2019 roster (Who will go in Slovakia ?)

I got around to watching the remainder of the Canada Finland game. I think that the team played pretty well for its first game all things considered. Stone, Mantha, Chabot, Theodore stood out in a good way for me. Importantly, Murray looked good. McCann wasn't bad actually although I am guessing that he has a good chance to be scratched. It should be Turris, but the captain isn't getting scratched. I'd like to see Dubois in between Stone and Marchessault. Once the defence works out the kinks related to the larger ice surface I think that it will be pretty good. I think that Canada beats Finland more often than not after a few tune up games have been played.

2014 Canado lost vs Fin in QF. 2016 in Round Robin Game 7(Okay you won the final ;)) and 2018 in Game 5.

Alright, I hope HC has the calls out to RD. anybody at this point, Pulock, Ekblad, Makar, Ellis, Barrie. somebody has to answer the call.

Barrie loves the tournament. if he answers the call tell him no play wrestling in the hotel room with teammates this time. That stupidity cost us in '17

Barrie have not good story with Team Canada.

I'm not a fan of Nurse and I don't like what he's done on big ice before, but he's been pretty good thus far. He had a bad turnover in the last game but he's playing well defensively and playing big minutes. Last game he played more than any other Canadian skater, by several minutes.
 
On TSN Dreger an Wallace said that Montour is questionable for the rest of the tournament, but Hockey Canada is more optimistic with Fabbro. From the sound of things Fabbro is hurt but not injured.

Yeah. I keep checking this thread to see if HC had finally used their last D spot. The USA just added Werenski, Sweden is getting Klingberg and Landeskog, Swiss and Czech both getting a F (Andrighetto & Faksa) to join their team and Russia is, well, pretty stacked on paper already. WTF are we doing sitting on our hands... we have a freaking medal to win.

It's a little frustrating to be sure.
 
TSN said that Hockey Canada is reaching out to additional players and also going back to players who previously refused and asking again. There's not much you can do if the players won't accept. If it comes down to it I'd rather them add the Europe-based defenceman that was with the team for the training camp than just go with six healthy defencemen.

I think he will be that good,maybe better.He's no Chabot yet but he's tracking well. You watch him play and can't come away not impressed and he's only going to get better.

and you can take Ekblad off your list. at least for now.

I agree on both counts. If an NHL player won't accept, it's still prudent to take a spare D-man from Europe. There are up to seven games still remaining for Canada if they make it that far and having no contingencies for additional injuries is risky.
