They should call someone, be in even a D-man from some European league as a backup. There are 4 more games during the group stage and then the K.O. game(s). It is risky to play this all with only 6 D-men on the roster.

I think Mat Robinson would be a nice add. He looked good during the Olympics and is used to the big ice. The team could use another solid defensive D.

Canada lowering to USA usual AHL prospects level, god, you should have taken Robinson :sarcasm:

New Philadelphia coach probably wants to test out if he can use him next year.

Myers was definitely making the Flyers this coming year after playing 21 this year. But it does show how many Dmen said no or are not available.

Stick him with Chabot and rekindle the WJC magic they had....minus Myers getting hurt of course.

He's a lock. Was a mainstay for most of the 2nd half of the season.

He's gonna be a good one. Has top-pairing potential.

I've noticed you've made a real living this tournament ducking in and out of the U.S and Canada threads taking these quick little shots at both teams.

What team do you cheer for anyway? I'm curious.

The Myers addition is fine. Good young defenceman. Not the puck mover that Montour was but add some extra size and moves well.

That's also nine members of the 2017 WJC team. That must be a record for Canada at this tournament.

I follow this tourney as whole and I care about many teams. As half American/Czech I’m rooting for these the most, but I always cheer for underdogs and primarily I want international hockey to grow and so I want hockey bases in hockey developing countries to grow. It’s not meant in bad manner, just makes me sad some of players have this kind of approach towards this tournament and international hockey in general.

I usually don’t like Canadian team much but no matter what players you bring in here you are always entertaining to watch. Particularly much more than US team this year.

just now freeing myself up from a busy work day. didn't hear/read the news, but I thought for a brief second we were talking about Tyler Myers. It will do. now all that the 2017 Jr. team has to do is turn those silver medals in for the right color medal.

Not exactly the Myers I was excited for but I'm OK with this. A good prospect for the Flyers and some depth for a thin D group. Now that the roster is fully set I hope they can use a couple of "lighter" games vs. France and Denmark to work out the kinks in the lines.

man. tumbleweeds blowing around this thread.

Huberdeau? tough getting news on him. I didn't hear anything this year re: invite. I know last year he was open to playing. made it clear to Hockey Canada that he was waiting around for the call/invite, but no call came. So, he just may have said the hell with Hockey Canada this year and made vacation plans early.

Dylan Strome almost where he belongs. in civvies in the pressbox. but he'll get there.

Kudos to him though for answering the call and showing up.

Bertuzzi lining up on D. should be fun.

rub a bit of ice on it and get out there. you'd be better off if you had lost some pearly white. girls dig the Bobby Clarke look.
