Studnicka with a nice goal, splits the D up the middle, five hole on Villalta. Nice passing, Frost gets the lone assist.

Formenton with a real nice give and go with... his linemate, I guess. Nearly bats the puck out of the air into the net.

Hardly worth watching to be honest.I can kinda tell who the D are but the forwards Lafrenieres cage is about the only helpful thing. Crotty didnt look very good assuming it was him the couples times I was thinking of

Canada's passing is better in this game than it usually is in the first camp game. Studnicka and Frost did well to create the goal. Formenton and Leason had decent chances go off the post. Frost, Lafreniere and some other guys had most of the powerplay time. USports only had one decent chance but it was shot high. Canada's right side defencemen have been much better defensively than the left defencemen. Smith made a few errors. I didn't notice Veleno even though I've been looking for him.

End of 1, 1-0 Canada, shots 11-9. Honestly a pretty boring period, and hell to try to watch.

My boy Jacob Bernard-Docker with a great shift at the end of the period. Real smooth curl and drag to wait out a defender in the neutral zone, and sets up a 2 on 1 for Canada. Few moments later rides his man out in the defensive zone and steals the puck.

Lafreniere had two great chances on the sole PP of the period set up by... whoever the left hand shot who plays the half wall is.

Suzuki with two very nice setups, one at even strength, one on the PP.

I’ve taken my player scouting cap off and am just enjoying the game as a fan. Besides, even though I can’t tell who any specific players are, the team as a whole looks pretty good. Heavy territorial edge to Canada in that period.
