Who do you think will get cut from not playing fast enough? Or making to many mistakes ? Or do not have enough chemistry with the other guys?

Biggest thing sticking out for me is Vilardi and Anderson Dolan not on ice. They cant even take line rushes in a non contact role? Vilardi hasnt played in how long and cant use the camp to get in game shape? I would think long and hard about cutting another good player for guys with their health as question marks. I wouldnt look too hard at the lines necessarily yet

McKenzie said that Vilardi and Anderson-Dolan arrived in Victoria late due to their medical issues so they were given the morning practice off. Both are cleared to practice, Vilardi is cleared to play scrimmages. I do agree regarding the risks with these health issues.

I think it'll look like this

Comtois-Glass-Tippett
Lafreniere-Vilardi-Anderson Dolan
Formenton-Suzuki-Frost
Bowers-Hayton-Leason
Veleno

Brook-Bouchard
Smith-Dobson
Joseph-Mitchell
Beaudin

Lines will sort themselves out, the forwards are fairly set in my eyes barring injury. There’s a few spots up for grabs but with Anderson-Dolan and Vilardi cleared to play, there just isn’t a lot of opportunity for guys. The right side of the defence is situated, the only question is the pecking order and who plays with who. The biggest battle on the back end will be on the left side and there’s no contest in goal.

Comtois- Glass- Vilardi
Formenton- Anderson-Dolan- Suzuki
Lafreniere- Hayton- Tippett
Frost- Veleno- Leason
Dellandrea

Smith- Bouchard
Joseph- Dobson
McIsaac- Mitchell

For everyone worried, yes brook is used to play off side, he plays both RH and LD!
For sure i would prefer him playing him to play his natural position if he’s to play with a guy with defensive liability. We’ll see tho.

As habs fan damn i would like to see
Lafreniere - Suzuki - Tippett
Or
Lafreniere - Glass - Suzuki

Probably won’t happen tho.

Predictions on who the captain's will be on this year's team? I think....

Comtois-"C"
Bouchard-"A"
Formenton-"A"
Vilardi-"A"

Tippett won't be on the team

McKenzie said on TSN today that he sees Lafreniere as having a considerably better than 50% chance of making the team.

Excited for these games against the U-Sports All-Stars, first look at the guys playing together and it's interesting to see how the U-Sports guys do

Very Very one dimensional player....back checking is not even optional for him it is almost non existent. But man can he shoot a puck!
He’s also a very underrated playmaker, now. Quite Kessel-like. It won’t be the end of the world if he’s on the team, but I’d prefer not. I don’t think this team will struggle to score goals. Then again, if we’re struggling to set up a strong cycle, he’s best equipped to be able to score off the rush.

Would agree with this...I do not think his hockey IQ is all the bad I think it is more his work ethic without the puck then anything else...

He is more of a streak down the wing, shoot and score type of guy rather then a cycle down low guy...which you are also correct on from my observations anyways.

Bernard-Docker has been quietly having a really good season in the NCAA. Anyone think he gets cut and maybe because the right side looks so strong this year?
I like him, too, but he’s in for a tough time for exactly that reason. Besides the fact that he’s got the non-CHLer thing working against him, he’s just not playing ahead of one of Bouchard, Dobson, and Brook. Only chance he has of making the team outside of a seventh defenseman role is if one of those righties slides over.

Who is going to be our token NCAA player then...Mitchell most likely?? Bowers,Crotty, Docker, ...on outside looking in

Whats even more incredible is that he's leading his team in points as an 18 year old rookie. He's in some elite company with his PPG thus far this season.

Yeah Tippett doesnt seem to have a very high hockey IQ from what I saw in the super serie...
He's had an NHL ready shot since he got drafted into the OHL but you're absolutely right about the lower IQ, he hasn't got too much more game other than his release
