I don't see how anyone could criticize Formenton. I wasn't big on him before the camp but he has been very good in every game in camp and in the exhibitions. Ducharme clearly wants an energy type lnie that gives opponents a different look and Formenton has been great in that role. If Batherson and Steenbergen are sharing one spot then that isn't really a problem.

There is absolutely zero reason to criticize Formenton as he has been doing exactly what they want from him so far.

IMO batherson stirs the drink on that line.
That line is big, can skate & they can cycle down low like pros & Batherson has some pretty great vision and hands to deliver pucks all over the place.
He reminds me of a smoother Mark Stone. The puck always seems to go where it needs to go when he has it.
I don't see Stennbergen complementing that line as well.

Like I said before, Stennbergen compliments McLeod which is pretty much all that matters. He has good hands and handles the puck for long periods of time where McLeod shouldn't. He is a better version of Watson, which could mean McLeod being the best even strength center Canada has.

I'd personally have Steenbergen in the main lineup instead of as the 13th forward, but it says a lot about the team if the leading scorer of the WHL who scored 2 goals in an exhibition game is in consideration for the 13th forward spot.

The thing with Steenbergen is that he looks like one of the only forwards that contributes only offence. He hasn't been noticeable except when he scores. Of course there is a lot to be said for such a player, but in the exhibitions most Canadian forwards have gotten all over the opposition with intense pressure, and this is the style of play that Ducharme typically uses. If Steenbergen can keep scoring a goal or two per game then obviously he should keep getting minutes, but at this point almost every forward has scored and the other players have brought more in addition to scoring. I don't mind if Ducharme keeps rotating Batherson and Steenbergen until one of them clearly emerges as the better fit.

Regarding Katchouk, I think he's been great. Smart player and playing a physical style that is often very effective in junior hockey. Katchouk, Formenton and Comtois have all been extremely effective on the forecheck with Gadjovich not far behind. I really don't think that any forward can be singled out for underperforming in the exhibitions. Of course these games have only been exhibitions so a lot remains to be seen.

So with Fabbro and Timmins back, who gets scratched between Foote and Makar?

Mete - Timmins
Clague - Fabbro
Bean - Makar/Foote

Mete-Timmins is definitely not gonna be the Top pairing.

#1 Pair will probably be Clague - Makar. They looked great together so far and with Fabbro back but probably not 100% I don think they'll have him playing top pair, at least not right away.

My guess is you'll see:

Clague - Makar
Bean - Fabbro
Mete - Timmins
Foote

Is there a site to watch the games after they've been played? I'll likely be working most of the time Canada is playing and would still like to watch the games after the fact.

Canada’s offence has question marks on who is going to step up and score while Finalnd’s Defense is the best this tournament.

Huge test for Canada, and we will see what kind of team we have this year early.

You know,it is normal for us to want to discuss line combinations and defensive partners and who will be the P.P q.b and what matchups there will be and who should be the 13th forward and 7th defenseman and all that stuff but in the end this will all come down to Hart, goaltending.

We either get goaltending that is at least a slight notch better then anyone elses or we don't and that will be the difference, maybe even more so then other years because of the nature of this years tournament with a bunch of teams clustered really close in ability.

They most likely will or won't be the difference when all is said and done. Simple as that. Hart(or Point) need to make KEY saves at KEY times.
