Could be true.. they looked good for parts of the game yesterday,.
I don't think they take Formenton out yet.,.. the other guy that Batherson could replace is Katchouk with Thomas and Raddysh,.. I see a fit there but ,,, it will all work out Ducharme knows what he has and what he wants. If one of Comtois or Formenton comes out that would be a tough choice imo
Katchouk has been awesome, nobody is replacing him

Which dmen winds up with the most points for Canada? Is Clague gonna run the #1 PP and run away with the D points lead, or could someone like Makar (or Bean or Mete) do better than him? Haven't seen the games myself, but from I've reading here on the forum, everyone seems to be raving about Makar.

one of Clague or Makar, but doesn't matter that much, so long as a Canadian d-man is named tournament's best d-man. and Hart is tournament's top goaltender and 10 of the tournaments top 20 scorers wear the Maple Leaf. Would make for a perfect Christmas.

The main problem is I think that both Batherson and Steenbergen have played well enough to not be the 13th forward, so do they start to look at taking someone else out? Not sure...
Gadjovich has been the least noticeable to me. Batherson one of the most, small sample size but that's personally who id make the switch with. Good problems to have for Canada.

Both have outplayed Formenton, and Batherson would fit nicely next to Howden/Comtois. It's not an easy call but it's the right one.
Formenton has been the hardest forchecker on the entire team and fits in with that line very well, no way they break that up. Don't agree at all. While Steenbergen has scored he hasn't been noticeable. Gadjovich and Steenbergen have made the least amount of impact in the games I have watched.

Steenbergen is still leading the WHL in goals, lol.
And yet, he isn't even leading his team in scoring. Seems to be quite a few people in this thread that see Batherson and Steenbergen the same way as I do. I will be interesting to see what the coaching staff ultimately decides.

On the top ranked team in the CHL he has 45 points in 30 games. 5 goals and 7 assists on the power play, 4 goals and 1 assist on the penalty kill, 7 game winning goals with 3 in overtime and his +\- is +32. There’s a reason he’s called “Klutch Katchouk” in Sault Ste. Marie. New Scotlander: I’m glad to see your post, as not many people on this thread seem to have even noticed him. He didn’t put up a lot of points in the two exhibition games, but he did create a lot of time and space for Thomas and Raddysh to light it up.

I notice him , maybe it's the Nova Scotia in me but he's an excellent player .As an Avs fan I wish we drafted him. Not saying he will or should but he can play in the NHL next year

Gadjovich is a net front presence. Remember last year, the states had Greenway who caused problems down low and in front of Canada's net. That's what Gadjovich can do. His nickname is "man-child"! Like I've stated before, he scored 46 goals last season, so he can bury too.

Right, but let's not move the goalposts, that was not what anybody was claiming.

I agree, it will be interesting. Especially if Canada struggles out of the gate against Finland.

Out of Katchouk, Raddysh, and Howden: which one has the most upside, which one has the highest floor, where would you slot them on your NHL team?

IMO batherson stirs the drink on that line.
That line is big, can skate & they can cycle down low like pros & Batherson has some pretty great vision and hands to deliver pucks all over the place.
He reminds me of a smoother Mark Stone. The puck always seems to go where it needs to go when he has it.
I don't see Stennbergen complementing that line as well.

The thing about Steenbergen is he's on pace to have the best goal per game ratio in the history of the WHL. He probably won't be able to break Ray Ferraro's goal record now that he will miss games in the WJC. But I would think a guy on pace to break a record like that should get a regular shift and pp time.

He has to actually earn the ice time. The entire team is filled with guys putting up amazing numbers, he isn't going to be gifted a spot(Or he shouldn't be) based off his numbers in the WHL. Because honestly so far he hasn't looked like he is keeping up.

They are all pretty good... I am higher on Howden than most I think, so I would go
Raddysh
Howden
Katchouk...

but in the end I think they are different and all pretty close

So with Fabbro and Timmins back, who gets scratched between Foote and Makar?

Mete - Timmins
Clague - Fabbro
Bean - Makar/Foote

I've noticed him, I agree that he was one of our best players through the two exhibition games, he's been great.
