Interesting that Gadjovich has seemingly made the team. He was good in the super series and provides a different element with his physicality.

This team lacks forwards but Hockey Canada drove away what would be their #1 C.

Logan Brown played for Canada at the U-17, then for whatever reason was cut from the U-18 Ivan Hlinka Tournament to keep a lot of players that weren’t as good as he was at the time. The player then gets upset obviously, USA Hockey comes calling to see if Brown would be interested in playing at the U18 World Championship and he takes them up on their offer after being rejected by Hockey Canada.

Now does Brown still go play for the USA even if he makes the Hlinka team? Possibly but I really doubt he decides to switch if he makes that team.

I highly doubt that Brown would be the number one centre on the team. Considering that he is a born and raised American I am also glad that he is nowhere near the team. Despite the constant complaints about Hockey Canada playing politics, from what I saw they did the exact right thing with Brown. He was disappointing in camp, as Sean Day was, and was rightly cut. Picking Brown when he didn't deserve it in the hopes that he would get locked in for Canada at a later tournament would be a bad decision.

Alex Formenton should be cut. The alarm bells should be ringing after his performance in last years OHL playoffs. Forget all the nonsense about making the Ottawa roster this fall. How can you trust player like him in big games? Also he's barely PPG this season in the OHL. Next year should be his turn.

I agree. He's got tremendous speed but his skill level isnt there yet. Lot of potential tho.

Formenton has been a standout in camp. Seems like a weird player to single out as not good enough for the team.

As an Ottawa fan I think Formenton will be a good 1, hoping he makes the team. Still that's only if he's good enough. Let's see what camp brings.

Hey Statsny you were the one who provided the link last year for the U Sports games and the game against Demark that was streamed on the net. Are they not streaming them this year?
Wasn't me, but I can tell you they're being streamed on TSNGO. Only seems to work in Canada though.

Not happy about Glass being cut. At all.

Yes, he's only 18 but look at what Canada's C depth, it certainly doesn't inspire confidence. Take the BPA. Everyone else is 19 so why not carry a guy who can lead next years crop, assuming he's not in Vegas. Glass is extremely versatile and plays a structured game. Hard to believe they didn't give him another look. The fact they kept guys like Suzuki, Formenton and Comtois over Glass is an absolute joke. Suzuki is a flashy player and makes you take notice of him whereas Glass has a more refined game and you might not notice him as much but he plays a pro style game. When it comes down to the Medal round who would you rather have? Glass is better than all those players by quite a large margin. Figure it out Ducharme

Prediction: Canada won't medal and HFBoards will say "told you so" about Glass.

Bad camp or not he's someone who would be top 2 Centre on any WJC team this year. Canada has a history of talented omissions followed by poor showings. Alas, I beleive it's one of those years.

Ya, I don't like Glass being cut...but HC making head scratching roster decisions is par for the course. especially when it comes to 18 year olds.

here's another prediction:

Team Canada GDTs will be filled with these kinds of play-by-play posts - Bean. The threads will runneth over/

I'm kind of indifferent on the Glass cutting. Do I think he should have been a first cut? No. But that doesn't mean he was a lock for the team by any means. I think people are putting too much stock in draft position. He also hasn't had a good camp apparently and while that may not matter for some people, as a bubble player (which he was IMO), you just can't afford to have a bad camp.

I also don't believe the C position is as dire as everyone makes it out to be. No way he was beating out McLeod and Steel so that leaves 2 spots left. Thomas had a good showing at St. Louis camp and has had a good season so far so I don't think Glass overwhelmingly deserved a spot over him. As for Howden, he's been hurt a bit and his production has taken a hit but he's a good all-around centre that was a late cut last year.

Yes it was you last year you posted a link to the U Sports site which provided the game from there. I'm watching it now on TSN GO. Thanks

While I would like to see Glass get a look in the final game, I can at least understand that he may not be a fit for the way that Ducharme likes his team to play - fast paced and good pressure. Same reason that a guy like Formenton is worth quite a look if Ducharme is coaching.

I'm watching the exhibition game. Vacation has begun. I'll post some updates.

Thomas's showing at the Blues' camp being called "good" is an understatement. He's 2nd in PPG in the OHL and is a great 2 way player, He's actually out producing Glass. Other then draft position, i dont know what he has over him.

Interesting that Kaspick is playing C today while McLeod is on RW.
Also have to think it doesn't look good for Suzuki being the 13th forward today.
I also hope the D pairs are like the competitions for spots. Foote-Ferraro and Mahura-Bean

Kyrou scored on the PP (the PA announcer says it was Kyrou anyway but it looked like it was Katchouk) after shoveling in a Mete rebound. Mete looks pretty good today. Great skating.

That's not going to help Point. Extremely sharp angle goal from Blichfield on Denmark's 2nd shot after Point fumbled with a weak 1st shot
