Playoffs are a strange beast but one thing about dominant teams that flame out in the playoffs: they are usually young / inexperienced teams. This Bs squad has veterans with an F ton of experience in the right areas, and a ton of good 'youth' elsewhere.

Bergy/Krejci/Marchand know what it takes, and they've bred an amazing culture in the room (also Chara's impact is still felt).

This isn't some high flying offensive powerhouse ripping through the regular season - it's led by some of the best old guys in the game.

Plus they are instilling this mentality in our young guns.

Unless TB picks up a solid #4 D man the B's will be deservedly favorites.
Toronto flat out doesn't have the D Corp or tending to be considered a favorite.

You seem so confident put your money where your mouth is. Lets do a $500 bet
even odds if your so confident that TB or Toronto beats them.

Great goaltending albeit...not playoff tested

Swayman won 3 PO games last year including one with McAvoy and Lindholm out of the lineup. McAvoy and March and both required major surgery and look healthy. In addition they have now added Orlov, Krejci and Zacha as impact players
augmented by a healthy Foligno. This clearly is a much improved team from last year.

All things being equal no team in the East will be favored in a series with them, that simple.

This thread could have been made in 2019 about the Bolts. You just never know.

Of course you never know. Injuries turn everything upside down. Hedman was dealing
with concussion issues when he was shutdown after G2. That was a huge loss.
Strawlman went out also so their #1 #3 D man went bye bye.

I once saw Columbus beat a Tampa team in 4 games. Yes, I can see a team beating this Bruins team.

Imagine the scenario where Toronto finally gets revenge taking out a stacked Boston team? I kid, playoffs have more than 1 round. (kidding).

Columbus beat a depleted TB D corp. Hedman should never have played the 2 games he did and Strawlman was injured also.

Columbus was an underrated team to boot.

Boston doesn’t have the clutch gene after 2011 (Tim Thomas saved them). See game 6 2013 SCF, game 2014 ECF, 2019 game 7 SCF.

Clutch gene? Lol, I hate to break the news to you but there is literally no such thing as a "clutch gene". You think Darcy Kuemper and Matt Murray posses a " clutch gene"?

Yes. Regular season doesn't mean anything in playoffs.

See Habs going to the finals with a shitty season or Leafs never going through first round despite having monster seasons.

With that said, the Bruins have playoffs success experience and could very well go all the way.

Carolina or even Colorado could upset them. But if I was a betting man, I'd bet on the Bruins to win it all for sure. Heck, even Tampa, Toronto, or NY Rangers could upset them.

I mean as an entire organization, they even whiffed on three straight drafts picks in 2015

The ultimate X factor, luck, is a fickle mistress. Yeah, you can make your own luck with hard work but every team has to find a way to handle adversity when shit goes wrong with things that are out of their hands at some point. That's what makes sports so compelling to watch - there are no guarantees.

Best line in hockey, lightning in a bottle (again!) on goaltending, solid depth everywhere else. You'd have to be a fool to take any other team over them. Anything can happen though so that's not the same as assuming they've already won it.

The answer to this question is yes, absolutely

It’s playoff hockey. A couple of unfortunate bounces and you head to the golf course. Anything can happen

Are they in a good spot to win it all? For sure. Doesn’t mean they will and it doesn’t mean they should be favored against the entire field combined. The field is more likely to win.

Yeah they gave the bruins some issues that year

Eastern conference is a war zone, 1 through 6 could be in the finals

It really is. Look at the number of teams in contention for the WC spots and even 3rd in their divisions. The games-in-hand spread reaches 5 games! The East is a tough conference and it's going to be a fun ride watching the next 20 games until the end of the season.

Bruins will steamroll teams on their way to the SCF with the possibility of NYR pulling the upset once they get Kane. I see Boston winning the cup this year but if there's one team in the west who could take them out it's Vegas. I just don't think the Avs have what it takes to get to the cup final again this year, I see them knocked out in the second round.

Yes, they are going to have to go through both the #4 or #5 team in the league AND either the #2, #3 or #7 team to just get to the Final.

I’m probably bias, but I’d put just as good of odds on the Avs repeating and winning the cup as Boston. Landy and Makar should be back and fully healthy come playoffs.

Whoever makes it out of the West should have a lot easier road compared to the East. Unless Boston just steamrolls their way to the SCF, it’ll be a tough road.

Definitely taking the field. They are certainly not the only good team, and we've seen countless times that dominant regular season teams can come up short in the playoffs.
