Post-Game Talk: Campbell plays, Leafs win

Need our PP to get going though. The solution isn't to replace Nylander either. Whether it's Keefe or Malhotra doing that, one of them deserves a talking too. It doesn't help you have d man with no shot to keep the defence honest in Rielly.
Agreed, except we have no viable replacement for Rielly. It's not an excuse I know but Keefe doesn't have the B@lls to remove him. Like one poster mentioned, maybe reposition him on the half wall. There must be someone in this team with a decent clapper . Maybe not!

Then you add their defensive stats:

2. 5v5 - tied for 7th

Hyman, I watch this guy, and say. Did Babcock really discover this guy. If he did. Did he?

If Babcock discovered this guy. Wow. That is quite a discovery.

I think a lot of credit goes to our pro scouts and Dubas as well. They identified he wanted out from Florida’s system and were able to trade for him.

but Babcock always believed in his ability

No, Dubas has known him since he was a kid, and Dubas traded McKegg to Florida to him. Babcock played him though even playing him with a torn ACL. Perhaps attempting to destroy his career?

Well, playing him at centre on the PK during Game 6 of the 2019 playoffs certainly destroyed the Leafs chances of winning that game... ugh.

Just for context.

90 players skate on a number 1 line. Tavares and Nylander both top 60 scoring skating on 2nd line is really not that bad.

Yes, they need to produce a little more, but if they continue to carry the play and not be on the ice for goals against, it's a big plus for the Leafs

Especially given that:
Marner TOI: 22.50 m/g (#1 for forwards in the league, 4th in scoring for forwards)
Matthews: 22.12 m/g (#3 for forwards in the league, 7th in scoring for forwards)

Nylander: 16.22/g (#151 for forwards in the league, 60th in scoring for forwards)
Tavares: 18.01 m/g (#80th for forwards in the league, 28th in scoring for forwards)

Freddy's inability to stop a 5 hole shot cost them that game.

jets fans are bein super crimgy, talkin trash about the raptors who legit just won a world championship. i respect the few fans that seem intelligent and are actually admitting the leafs are better, big respect.
I don't think I've ever respected a Jets fan. They're identical to Oilers fans. Proper obsessed with anything Toronto.

should he have played him wing on the PK? lol
He shouldn’t have played him at all. The torn ACL rendered him useless.

Freddy's inability to stop a 5 hole shot cost them that game.
Boston’s PP was perfect in that game if I remember correctly and Babcock got outcoached by Cassidy at every turn. Not ideal any way you look at it in my opinion.
