Clifford being dealt is pulling on too many people's heartstrings. Kings could still sign him or sign a kid who's willing to play the same game as Clifford for less money.
He had to go too.. what’s the point in keeping him?Horrible. F Blake. Understood Soup had to go but Clifford?
And it was perfect timing. I wanted Clifford to stay too but you have to trade them before their game drops. Dont want another Carter situation stuck on the roster. They actually traded Clifford when I finally actually wanted to keep him. Feels like a dumb trade.
He’s a 4th liner dude.. no way around that and a 3rd is great value for Clifford possibly a 2ndFor what it's worth, Clifford wasn't a fourth-liner. He was our best third-liner. Not that that's necessarily glowing praise for our team.
He was a culture guy for the young guys.Gave 100% every shift.Leaf fans say the scrub we got back gets hurt alot.yay.He had to go too.. what’s the point in keeping him?
Because this game isn't played on imaginary depth charts. He had to go too.. what’s the point in keeping him?
That’s great if our culture was up to par and we had a winning culture.. but we don’t and he was also part of that.. I’d rather sign Nic Deslauriers this off-season...He was a culture guy for the young guys.Gave 100% every shift.Leaf fansxsay the scrub we got back gets hurt alot.yay.
hell, if he sticks long enough to become even just a meme, i think we winMoore is going to be the new "Long Beach native, Matt Nieto"
His value overall is limited... he can still resign but if he’s the culture guy and a glue guy then it doesn’t say much considering we’re lacking..Because this game isn't played on imaginary depth charts.
Clifford is the last of the Cup vets that should have been dealt. His value on ice may be limited, but thats not why you pay him.
Here is my perspective on the deal. From the main board.
People are looking at this deal all wrong. Campbell is the goalie that GM's sign as an UFA in the summer. At 1.65 starting next year, he is almost 1M more than Dubas allocated with Hutchinson and Sparks. One cannot ignore the cap hit and the assets given up for Campbell due to the Leafs current situation. All could have been avoided had the back up goalie position was addressed last summer. When you look at it this way, it was a costly deal for Dubas. And Blake can easily wait till the summer to fill the back up goalie void. Either in house or by UFA without giving up one solitary asset while gaining 3 from this trade.
I really don’t understand your whining?Well at lease one LA team knows how to trade recently for value and need.
Carless about Campbell, wouldve rather kept Clifford and handed back Moore.I really don’t understand your whining?
At worse, we literally got great value for a 4 th liner and a backup goalie.. **** we got squat for Bishop and Keumper..
at best, we end up with a 2nd and 3rd rounder aka amazing value.. now if Clifford held some sentimental value, I’m sorry but keep in mind he could still resign(which seems likely) and what then?
I think that’s just sentiment for a true gamer..Clifford was definitely going to be dealt.
He's also definitely a possible re-signing in the off-season.
I like the six wins condition but initial reaction is being underwhelmed but here's hoping Moore is a competent 4th liner that finishes checks and adds some fire to this group of *****es.
I’d bet money on him coming back!Carless about Campbell, wouldve rather kept Clifford and handed back Moore.
Some of you guys greatly overvalue Clifford and Campbell. The return is absolutely fair. Massive props to Clifford for his time here, but I never thought he would retire a King.
Simmonds? That was what? 10 years ago? Wait until the trade Lewis.Just a matter of time Doughty asks to be traded.
Kings trade Muzzin, Clifford, Simmonds - these are all his bffs. Plus, the Kings suck. Lewis is next and that’s his other bff.
