Can't we all just get along :sarcasm:
Looking forward to some reports out of TC, and seeing Lambert in some exhibition games. He's got a really good chance, but you never know as there are a few players he needs to beat and how they want to structure their lines.

I'll be fascinated to see how he pans out. I wanted him badly in 22 draft, was furious when leafs traded back.

Wheeler was a very good player for the Jets for 12 years. They "dealt" with him when he was 37 with 1 year left on his deal because he was at the end of his career at 37 and buying him out and using the cap space was a better move.
He got stripped and dumped. There’s a lot more to it than that.

Interesting to see if Lambert can score enough points for his coach to excuse his play without the puck.

Like a lot of offensive style players., right?

He will need good wingers that compliment his game.

Isn’t he a winger? Anyway he’s one of those guys who either outscores his play without the puck or he’s not in the nhl.

You must’ve watched a lot of Lambert game footage to come up with a nice opinion like that. I mean at least you know he’s not a goalie…

1g+1a last night, he was flying around making plays and dictating the pace all night. I'd be very surprised if he doesn't make the team.

Sidenote - it looks like he's grown a fair amount in the last few years. Wouldn't be surprised if he's over 6'1 now.

I think he's definitley doing what he can to make it a tough decision. Looks like he's going to get into another game tomorrow with skill players.

It all comes down to 2 centre spots, 2C (or 3C if you consider the Lowry line to be the 2nd line due to the minutes they play) and 4C, between 4 players (Lambert, Namestnikov, Kupari, and Gustafsson).

Historically the 4C likely wouldn't be an option as they usually use the bottom 6 for PK (and you'd want a young guy at his stage to get more minutes to keep developing). Arniel has made some comments about putting more top 6 players on the PK, so it's possible that they could use skill players on the 4th. Then you need to look at how many minutes that line might get, what players might need to be waived or moved, etc.

I could see him making the team, and I could see them starting him on the Moose as that's "easiest" from a waiver perspective and letting the first part of the season play out having him as a call up.
