Has been just an absolute beast this year. Even killing off 5 on 3's he's a legitimate chance to score every time he's even near the puck. I wasn't necessarily a fan in his draft year but those Mike Richards comparisons are looking extremely valid right now. Centering Dal Colle and Cassells they're basically a threat to score every time they step foot on the ice.

Im tempering my expectations of him. If he becomes as good as Jarret Stoll was before all his concussions and seizure, I'll be happy. Anything better than that and I'll be thrilled.

Holy hell that was sweet. Completely undressed that dman.

Absolutely dominating the OHL right now.

Saw this tweet earlier tonight...

Since he was sent back to the OHL, Scott Laughton has scored or assisted over half of his team's goals (25 points on 47 Oshawa goals).

Kid is going to be an NHLer in the very near future. Great defensively, works very hard, and a really underrated offensive game too, what's not to like?

Going to be interesting to see what the Flyers do with all these centres though. Even without Laughton, they've already got a logjam with Giroux/Lecavalier/Schenn/Couturier. Add in Laughton, and you've got 5 guys competing for 3 spots.

They already moved Vinny to wing. Schenn and Giroux have played there as well. Probably something like:

Vinny-Giroux-Voracek
Read-Couts-Simmonds
Schenn-Laughton-Hartnell

Next year.

There will be a trade to fill another need.

I was thinking something more like..

Hartnell - Giroux - Lecavalier
Schenn - Couturier - Voracek
Read - Laughton - Simmonds

Any update on Scott. Last I heard he was dominating.

Still the best player on the ice in any given game. IMO he's the best player in the OHL, with Connor McDavid close behind (what does that say about the 16 year old)

17G/18A/35P in 20 games...4 shorthanded goals leads the league. Will get a good look at him tonight on a big stage in the Subway Super Series. Will be a big part of Team Canada at the World Juniors, unless he gets suspended early (possible - the guy is a destroyer out there, I could see him catching someone with something huge and being suspended even in a pre-tourney game)

Wow awesome. Appreciate the response.

Mike Richards lite player.

So excited for his future [hopefully] here in Philly.

-Has improved offensively since his draft year
-Complete player...plays all 200 ft.
-Physical
-Leadership qualities (captain for Oshawa, captain for OHL team in Super Series, possible candidate for captain of Canada's WJC team)

Damn...That 2012 draft was highly touted for the defence men but it looks like its going to pump out some sick forwards as well.

Laughton isn't the captain for Oshawa, he's an assistant captain. Josh Brown is the captain.

That looks ****ing terrifying. That looks like a great first line and two good second lines.

I was thinking something more like..

Hartnell - Giroux - Lecavalier
Schenn - Couturier - Voracek
Read - Laughton - Simmonds

Seems more realistic, but still my above comment applies.

Would love to trade Hartnell and sign downie. Considering we want to keep downie and Laughton is a lock it's no wonder we are trying to trade schenn.
