2 quick goals for Bennett early in the 1st period....He now has 10 goals 9 assists in his comeback,This is his 9th game of the year..

I wonder what he'll be like in 2015-2016 (hopefully in the NHL) when he'll have completed his first professional off-season (AKA via a Flames training regime or something of the sort.) Monahan after his first summer packed on the muscle and conditioning and it's really paying off this season. Bennett should be able to accomplish something similar especially now that he's at 100%.

I will go ahead and say that he could even beat out Eichel/McDavid for the Calder, if he is better conditioned. McDavid/Eichel won't have the benefit of spending half a season with their NHL teams just learning on the sidelines while injured as Bennett did, and also be as physically developed.

The Crouse/Bennett/Watson line has been unstoppable the last few games. Bennett, in particular, looks almost like a man amongst boys. It's gotten to the point where you're expecting at least 2 points every game. Anytime he scores 1 point or less, it's considered a sub-par game for him.

I still don't think Kingston has the offensive depth to go deep in the playoffs. But that top line makes them a threat to at least upset a team in the first round.

Really good player, interested to see how he does next year.

he's a beast. I'm very curious to see how both Sams turn out. Should be interesting to keep up with and keep track of.

Glad his shoulder isn't a big problem. As awful as it may sound it could've been a blessing, to be around the Flames and their staff. I'm sure he picked up some stuff on the way.

Hat trick, still in the 2nd. Good God.

Added a beauty assist on Crouse's goal to cap off the night. His line didn't see much ice time in the third period with such a huge lead and a game tomorrow.

The guy is just so tenacious. He wants the puck all the time. If he doesn't have it, he never stops moving his feet until he gets it back from the opposition.

Kingston is in a position where they could overtake (It won't be easy) Niagara for 5th in the East, if they do that and face Ottawa in the 1st round, I'm not sure that would be much of an upset. It's actually amazing how much they have improved in the standings since Bennett came back. They were in 7th place a couple points back from Belleville and now they have not only pass Belleville but have an 11 point cushion and as on Niagara's heals.

With a top line clicking like the Bennett line is and one of the top goalies in the OHL, I think a playoff run would not be shocking at all.

Not even being bias when I say this, but this Frontenacs team could be primed for a run in the East.

I don't think anyone has an answer for that top line with the way Bennett is playing, and Lucas Peressini has quietly been the 2nd best goalie in the OHL all year.

Who knows how they'd stack up against say Oshawa or Barrie in the later rounds, but I do think that despite the fact they won't have home ice that they'll be favoured over North Bay(who they trounced tonight) or Ottawa in the 1st round.

doesn't Kingston have an amazing record against Oshawa? and that's without Bennett?

a big playoff run is exactly what Sam needs after a lengthy injury and the way Kingston went out last year. Hopefully they pull it off!!

Honest and non-inflammatory question: is Bennett prone to taking stupid penalties? He racked up 110+ PIMs last year so I'm just curious if this is his game a la Corey Perry

but ....but.... but he cant do a pull up...remember guys?

Amazing Prospect Calgary got lucky again with another center

When I heard that I actually wanted Bennett more. I'm like, wait until this kid trains. He's a perfect size to be a speedster and still play like a bulldog. Plus he's as offensively dynamic as anyone from that draft. There's so much to like about this young man and probably the thing I like most is how much he wants it and how competitive he is.

I think he plays next season with the flames, but I don't really see Bennett playing center, for all of his tenacity, 19 year olds just don't get it done on the dot.

Can anyone comment on his faceoffs since the injury?

I think he can. He is a very, very good hockey player. Horvat is doing extremely well as a 19 year old at centre and it is not hard to argue that Bennett is at least the player Horvat is. I am very excited to see him in the NHL and the nasty rivalry that we will have with the Flames for years to come!

Bennett has a lot more offensive upside than Horvat.

But will be interesting to watch our young centres go head to head for sure.

I'm happy as a Flames fan, but right now it's just cool to see how Kingston has gone from a borderline playoff team to a team no one wants to face. They were already pretty solid defensively and now they have a sick offence to go with that.

With Monahan and Backlund they can shelter Bennett in his first year.

Horvat is a very good player, but Bennett has a way better offensive skill set.

9 Games Played
11 goals
10 assists

Can't wait to see him with the Flames next year.

It's junior and lots of players have performed well in junior but not in the NHL. having said this I don't think he will fail in the NHL but certainly he will not be as prolific.

I wouldn't call them stupid penalties, per se. When I think of stupid penalties, I think of penalties a player takes due to laziness (ie. hooking/holding because he's not moving his feet), or penalties that are constantly hurting his team (ie. selfish penalty in the third period of a 2-2 hockey game).

Bennett's are more the type from how competitive he is. He'll get a fair share of coincidental minors from shoves/roughs/slashes after the whistle, or from fighting back if someone gets in his face after a board battle.

He hasn't been bad about it so far this year, though. He's been turning the other cheek in scrums the majority of the time this year, something he didn't do last year.

Thanks, Tyrolean! It's always great when the obvious is pointed out
Bennett might be prolific, he might not be, we're just thrilled with what we have seen since drafting him.

I still would have chosen Bennet over Leon. I hope the Oilers made the right choice though.
