If he continues to play well at the U18s could that put him back on everyone's radar? Maybe gets him back into round 1?

Stenberg not being a first rounder has always been a silly idea. I’ve never been his biggest fan but 30 prospect better than him? Not a chance.

The fact that this player is being questioned as a 1st round talent goes to show how strong the draft is. Pretty damn good player with a solid NHL skillset in my eyes!

I watched Stenberg over 40 times the last two years and never once did I see him have a shitty game. Unproductive? Sure, it happens. But he also battled through injury and still was Frolunda J20’s best forward in top-10 play and in the playoff series with Rogle. Better than NDN, better than Edstrom. And in better I mean IQ, versatility, clutch play, battle level, etc.

I wish people would just admit they saw his early-season stats compared to NDN and started doubting Stenberg thereafter.

The player has NOT changed lol. He’s always been this good. So many pro-level measurables. Know for a fact he blew away some senior scouts at the WJAC against older teams. Also a big reason why CSB put/kept him at 6 on their Euro list.

Happy for Stenberg.. he's showing out on the international stage while his season might not have been as productive as everyone, including himself, wished it would be.

I see an NHLer here.. he's got the skills, the work ethic, and the determination on the ice. Maybe he tops out as middle 6 vs. top 6, but I would not doubt that he at least makes the NHL in a Jesper Boqvist style role.

Stenberg, Wahlberg, Edstrom should all get picked 1st round, Swedes are pretty underrated this year.
Don't know about Edström, but probably Wahlberg, and Stenberg has always been a lock in my opinion.

No matter how hard you statwatch league play this year, all in all he just straight up is the best 05 forward in the country. Maybe by less margin that it felt like a year ago, but still significant.

Edstrom aswell, 6'3 skates well, 2way guy with offebsive skills

If Bystedt went 1st round last year, Edstrom should too IMO. Big 2oo ft center with such skating are always attractive comes draft day.

Agree, Stenberg is really good.

I believe SelltheTeam is correct, he just scored and he is up to 5 points according to the IIHF game tracker. He just tied Leonard in points.

Berth, Stenberg did not have a particularly strong regular season. That is the explanation for him. But he was really good at the Hlinka in August and a beast here in this tournament.
Not just Hlinka & here, he's always excellent whenever he represents Sweden.

I hope he goes in the first round, no way he fell to the second round at this point. David Edstrom also, I can see him get drafted in the end of the 1st.
