Does he actually play Center?
Yes.
Does he actually play Center?
I don´t know anything about this guy. How good is he compared to Eklund, Raymond or Holtz?
He's a highly skilled offensive player, but I see a late 1st rounder as of now. Not the same level as those guys
Disagree. I think Stenberg a good chance of being better than Holtz and Eklund.
IIRC correctly you liked Stenberg better than Carlsson (Leo) at one point even as Carlsson was showing up in SHL box scores (not that making the SHL ‘first’ proves anything but it certainly accelerated Carlson’s hype on this forum). Do you prefer one over the other as of now - purely in terms of NHL upside?Disagree. I think Stenberg a good chance of being better than Holtz and Eklund.
Seems like a future wing
9 points in 4 games @ ivan hlinka, tied point leader with calum ritchie
And tied 1# in scoring aswell (5 goals)
I think he's the best Swedish forward prospect since Raymond.
I thought he was quite a bit better than any other Swede at the Hlinka from what I saw. He was the one who could really keep up with the other top players in the tournament among the Swedish team.
I was surprised he was playing winger, but if this guy with his skating, puck skills, sense, shooting, and passing can play center, I think there's a good chance he can be a top ten pick. And he's competitive and played both ways I thought. Not too small either though.
I'm low on Carlsson. Don't see high-end skill and I think he's only an average skater, but it's possible that a guy who is 6'3, can play center, has some skill and can skate well enough goes top 10. Wouldn't surprise me.I think he's the 2nd Swedish forward off the board this year. Leo Carlsson's size and skill is going to be hard for teams to pass up in the top 5 this year. But Stennberg certainly looked to have a great skill game this year. I'm not sure why he wasn't playing center. The only reason I think is the logical explaination is Sweden has its centers play more defensively while the wingers carry the play offensively.
Also that 5'11" looks outdated. He didn't seem as small as his listed size.

I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum. I think Carlsson is the best Swedish forward prospect since Nick Backstrom. When I saw him in the SHL last season I had no clue who he was, saw the cage and thought he must be a 2022 eligible until I looked him up.
That said, Otto Stenberg looks like the kind of guy that has game breaker potential. I'd love to see more of him during the season but if the 2023 draft was held tomorrow I would be perfectly happy with Detroit selecting him.
If you look historically, he was 24th in U17 season point totals in SHL history. Thats good, but it's not elite. Certainly not at the level of the best Swedish prospect we've seen in a bit. Is he better than Dahlin who went 1OA? You'd think he's no worse than 3OA if he's better than Dahlin and possibly challenging for 1OA.Yeah it's pretty clear that Leo Carlsson is a cut above Stenberg and probably one of the best Swedish prospects we've seen in a bit. Obviously we'll see where his progression is this year.. but what Carlsson was doing in the SHL last year was pretty remarkable for his age.
He had the confidence and ability to pull off some really skilled plays against men.
