3-3-2-5 since coming back from the WJCs. Djurgården has 10 goals in that span, btw.
He’s said he’s playing in SwedenDoes he come over next year and play in the AHL or another year in Sweden? Does that put him 3 years from the NHL if he spends another year in Sweden?
I admit I only stat watch using elite prospects so if someone watches the games and can answer that would be great.
Lekkerimaki was higher ranked than Ostlund at the draft yet Ostlund has 21 points and Lekkerimaki has 9 points.
Whats with the discrepancy? Is there a big difference in play compared to when they were both scouted for the draft?
Just curious because they were drafted 1 spot apart and following their progress I find interesting.
Thank you for your answer.Ostlund plays a more mature game and started getting icetime on Kruger's wing to start the year. He's more responsible defensively, in a nut shell. And since he's also pretty good, as he's had success, he's gotten more ToI. He's on the DIF first powerplay, usually on the right half-wall for example. Neither of Ohgren or Lekkerimaki are at the moment. That's not to say either of those other two will be worse players in the long term, just where they are right now.

Scouting reports I read about Ostlund seems very encouraging and that he was one of the best Swedish prospects going into the draft.
He just didn't seem to get that kind of hype during the draft maybe because he is a bit undersized or because he is still raw and has maturing to do? He seems very promising.
He was a guy who split some scouting places on whether or not he had a shooting side to his game at all because he was used consistently to settle down and feed and cover for Ohgren and Lekkerimaki. Some places thought he had an entire side to his game he just never got to show. Early returns are that they were correct and he’s a much more well rounded offensive player than he was given credit for pre-draft. But we obviously believed that to be the case.He was the center on the line with Lekkerimaki - flashy finisher - and Ohgren - 2-way, pro-style winger - and was the engine who makes that line go but didn't get as much recognition casually but some of the scouting folks were very high on his ability.
Sounds like we got a steal in the draft. He seems very promising. Everything I read about him makes him sound fantastic but I guess thats the point of a scouting report. He was a guy who split some scouting places on whether or not he had a shooting side to his game at all because he was used consistently to settle down and feed and cover for Ohgren and Lekkerimaki. Savoie could have the same timeline but I could see one or both jumping a season. Kulich is looking like he could make the Sabres as early as next season if he stays healthy, has a strong finish and a good summer. Crazyif he stays in sweeden
23/24 sweden
24/25 yr 1 ELC in Rochester
25/26 he’s a primary call up
26/27 on Sabres
Kulich snd Savoie likely ahead of him being on the Sabres.

Well Savoie's default is the CHL. It would be perfectly reasonable for him to follow the same path you laid out for Ostlund. But, I was mostly agreeing with you. Kulich is the outlier as he's actually finding success in the A. I imagine they would want him in Roch again next year anyway for polishing unless he just owns the league in the second half of this season.next year Savoie has buffalo or CHL. He coukd be in Buffalo by default. Kulich woukd have had 2 full seasons in NA before he comes over. It’s an advantage to them.
I think Kulich will get call ups next season. They will probably limit it to 9 games so he can still slide unless he shows something.Well Savoie's default is the CHL. Letterimaki out for the season with an injury. I guess that doesn't effect Ostlund?
Since his stint in J20, Lekk has played in the top line. But that doesn't really matter for ice time as Östlund's usually now one of, if not the, leaders in ice time for forwards. Not really, they aren't usually on the same line. Ostlund has been playing higher in the lineup for DIF than Lekkerimaki has been.

Better bubblewrap Noah, though. Not just Lekk suffered a long term injury, Öhgren has as well.
They all had a bout of injuries pre-U20's.Ostlund had his in December before the U20's, missed a couple of weeks.

Anyway, another goal today, caught a rebound near the blue paint. With Krüger out his line was rolled as the de facto first line. Everybody on the line played 22+ minutes, only Stefan Elliott(Djurgården's 1D) played more. Best skater on the ice. Caught a shot on the lower side of his face at the very end, hopefully it's nothing.
