Hey man, be nice, he's only 180 pounds. :sarcasm:

I so wish I could watch him play live. From the videos of him that I've seen he looks like an incredible player.

Haha my bad. Let me fix that.

He is an incredible talent. Wasn't even his best game I'm sure, and he was still more fun to watch than most players.

He's likely no Crosby, but man, I wish he was in this draft class. It would make watching the sinking SS Leafganistan all the better

yea it wasn't the highlight of the night from what I can see. Lundqvist's save was + it's not on the honour roll either.

He had the highlight of the night on TSN, don't think I've ever seen a CHL goal get that honor before

I didn't watch TSN this morning, but I'll assume you are talking about the first goal he scored last night? Seeing it in person, it was one of those goals where you knew it was going in, you knew it was a momentum changer and you knew you were always going to remember it. Whether that comes through on the TV, I don't know.

The whole sequence was fantastic, down 1-0, crowd getting on the ref's for missed calls, big hit, great play to keep the puck in at the blue line and then MacKinnon to the net. I was half out of my seat before the puck went in. :handclap:

It was really something else. Sometimes Nathan just "decides to score". This was definitely one of those times. The Moose were a totally different team after that goal.

EDIT: MacKinnon's first goal was in fact the HON on SportsCentre. The 11:00 AT show just had it, with Onrait and O'Toole.

Must've been a late addition. good to see.

dying for a halifax saint john series. What's the earliest that'll happen? 3rd round if halifax beats BLB?

Yup.

Although the Mooseheads haven't been in the same league as the Sea Dogs all season. It'll likely be a slaughter.

Next year will be the year for the Mooseheads with Shawinigan and the Sea Dogs losing the majority of their talent.

Quebec v. Halifax will be the story of next season.

Yeah, it was sick, and it was the highlight of the night on TSN (sportscenter). Pulls a nice spin move to get away from the first defender, goes hard to the net, dangles the goalie and scores.

That was a ton of patience... For a 16 year old in Juniors holy ****.. That was also some great pass-playing by the Mooseheads... definite favorites for the Memorial Cup IMHO.

I'm a "Saint John" (Rothesay/Quispamsis) native so I'm not so secretly ok with that  but I was a Halifax supporter before the Dogs entered the league so it'd be fun for me either way. Also gives me a good opportunity to limit travel by catching a series at home.

Maybe next year. They'll be hard pressed to win two series in the QMJHL this year, IMO.

Pretty brutal coverage, I would not expect that to work in the nhl.

You may be right, but it was a hell of a move nonetheless. Keep in mind Halifax was on the PP, so Moncton couldn't be overly aggressive. It was a great goal (especially for his 1st ever playoff goal) and swung momentum for Halifax, but he's also scored better 'highlight-reel' goals this year.

I've seen worse defensive coverage from the Leafs.............

You definitely got that right.

Had another goal today(penalty shot) in a 4-1 win.

Nice shake with the leg

Hit the post on a one timer and had a penalty shot goal tonight. I honestly can't understand anyone who has him below 1st overall for 2013 at this point, has been amazing.

Does anyone have a sense of how Nathan Noel and Connor McDavid compare to MacKinnon? I know this is a bit of an impossible question b/c Noel and McDavid are two years younger and haven't played in the CHL...but I was wondering whether anyone had any thoughts...
