does anyone think he could make the NHL right away??? a 6'3 center could be pretty sick to have. my guess he sticks with Sarnia for 2 more years and maybe a year in the AHL.

also maybe its my ignorance but what about comparisons with Johanson (CBJ) does his style compare i mean they have similar size in all.

I'm wondering will this drop Zacha's rank. He's top ten projection right now, but if he's out for 3-5 weeks maybe he drops top 15?

He's a LW I think.

He's out for a max of 5 weeks. It won't plummet his draft stock considering Galchenyuk was 3rd with like 5 games played and Rielly was 5th with like 5 periods played.

A team is going to fall in love with his size and skill combo and take him high. HF will proceed to explode.

For the people questioning why he is a top 5-10 player tonight he showed why he is. I feel like I have been praising him in every thread, but he deserves it. He is really the full package and can do it all. Heres his two goals tonight. Nice backhand and a lucky one to tie it in the final minute, but really showcases his elite skating, and that has NHL scouts drooling that a guy this big has wheels like that.

Trevor Linden was in the building for this game. :yo:

If awesome defenders like Kylington, Werenski and Provorov are all picked by the time it's the Canucks' turn to pick, and they are not entirely satisfied with what J. Roy brings to the table, then given the kind of players Vancouver that the Canucks want to draft moving forward (big and fast), there's probably no other way to go for the Canucks if Zacha's still available. However, Barzal is also a pretty enticing option and could still be available, but in the last week or so, he's been playing like a top-10 talent again and seems to be back up to speed after recovering from his injury.

Anyways, I'm a huge Zacha fan. He's like a Pacioretty/Landeskog cross. Canucks can use that kind of depth on their LW. I'm predicting that they'll pick between 10-15. There are some GOOD players available in that range, and Zacha could be one of them!

He should go top 5. If he does not I will be surprised. His lack of points this year is no a fair represanation of his play skill or potential.

He won't go top 5. Top 10, sure.

The top 5 of this draft is pretty much sealed off, do you really see New Jersey, Carolina, Columbus, Toronto taking Zacha instead of Strome/Marner? I don't see him going ahead of Provorov and Werenski, either.

Which is not to say I don't like him or think he's special. This is a deep top 10.

He didn't look like anything special at the WJC. He became pretty overrated once he chose to play in the OHL, for me he's not a top 10 pick. I haven't seen him this season except for the WJC though.

Based on his limited experience on this side of the pond, an argument can perhaps be made that you're right. Maybe his early pace is a fluke, opposition will adjust etc, but if not and he's this (pretty darn) good in his first season in the OHL, his ceiling is very high. And we've seen a lot of similar type players ending up as guys picked the first 10-15 over the last decade or two.

Really intrigued by Zacha. Seems to have all the tools. Anyone who watches him often or follows his team care to enlighten me on why his production isn't exactly outstanding?

He does have all the tools to be a force at the next level. He's one of those players I can see being a better NHLer than Jr. All the stat watchers are dropping him in their rankings because he isn't producing enough. Anyone that actually watches him sees the countless opportunities he creates a game. The problem? The talent hes playing with. He will walk through the entire opposing team, feed it to a linemate thats wide open that will not bury a sure goal. I've seen it countless times.

The #31 ranking in Button's list is just shameful in my opinion. I've tried to stand up for Button in the past but this really questions my beliefs whether or not Button has had more than a couple live viewings. I've said it from the beginning that I would surely take Zacha ahead of Strome and I still stand by that. Time is the only thing that prove who was right.

Zacha says in an interview with deniksport (http://isport.blesk.cz/clanek/hokej...-draftem-me-uz-oslovilo-dvacet-klubu-nhl.html) that it'd be a dream to be drafted top-10.

His favourite team is Washington, but he'd rather play for Arizona or LA as he believes he'd get a good chance to play there (in the sense of getting good ice-time). LA specifically told him he'd have a strong chance to play in his first year (as did 6 other teams).

But he'd be happy with any team :)

I don't get why is it so important to play in the NHL right away. I'm sure it can be very pleasing and satisfying to play in this league at such young age but it doesn't necessarily means it's the best for you and your development.

Yeah, that's true. Well, you know what his dad's like.....he's been drumming it into his head since he was a kid
