I do like Barzal, I think he'd compete with Marner for #4 if he didn't get hurt and also play for a lacklustre team.

So that means Zacha is an official LW now? I remember at the beginning of the year he was a centre and a possible Top 5 pick, but i guess he didn't adapt quickly enough to the NA game

Further to what you're saying, NHL scouts will take into account his injury and quality of team. If Barzal keeps playing well an improving, by the time draft rolls around and teams have all their ducks in a row, there's no reason he couldn't go ahead of Marner or right behind him.

Sounds like Zacha isn't dumb but isn't super hockey smart by NHL standards. Physical 2nd liners with good offense aren't easy to find so he'll be off the board quickly after the possible 1Cs and 1Ds have.

Is it just the points or is he having a shift to shift impact for those of you watching? I'll watch the video of it later, but this is the type of stuff that legitimizes his tools (that are more than evident) if he's having a big shift-to-shift impact in the series.

Kid has been the best player on the ice for either team. He's flying out there finishing his checks and backchecking hard. He's been responsible for 3 or 4 golden chances for his line

How has zacha been in playoffs. Points wise it still looks like he's had underwhelming play for his expectations but that's not always the case with points. Just curious because in one of the threads involving Crouse, someone posted that players taken in the top 10 with under PPG pace in their draft years tend to not be anything special aside from johansen

Looks very, very good today. Insane physical tools, he can just win any board battle with ease.

Thats why scouts are so high on him even without the elite point totals this season with Sarnia.

He's really big, very good hands, good skater, great shot and plays with a edge.

I've said before, I could easily see him being a better pro than Strome.

I think Zacha's potential is up there with Hanifin, Marner, and Strome. Much more of a risky pick, but he's got easily the highest upside after the top-5.

I've been high on Zacha for about a year now. The concern is obviously the point total. Not dissimilar to Paajarvi, you see a player with tremendous physical tools who for some reason doesn't produce as expected. There's risk there. I think he'd be a great pick for a team that can afford to take that risk. Maybe they have multiple first rounders, or perhaps they already have a great group of youngsters. Personally I'd like to see Toronto grab after their first pick, but I don't see it happening.

I hope Zacha reaches his potential, but he will likely be a guy that takes some time to get there. Then again, maybe I'm totally wrong and he makes it to the show as fast as Nuke did in Dallas

Zacha shouldnt make it out of the top 10.

There was a Czech interview with him where he said some teams told him he could play for them next year. LA and Arizona among them if I recall correctly.

One thing I really liked about Zacha's game today was his ability to make smart/efficient plays when the puck was wrung around the boards to him in the defensive zone. Many times was able to cup the puck nicely off the boards and make strong crisp's pass's to the breaking player.

His touch was excellant today.
