Trevor Linden was in the building for this game. :yo:

If awesome defenders like Kylington, Werenski and Provorov are all picked by the time it's the Canucks' turn to pick, and they are not entirely satisfied with what J. Roy brings to the table, then given the kind of players Vancouver that the Canucks want to draft moving forward (big and fast), there's probably no other way to go for the Canucks if Zacha's still available. However, Barzal is also a pretty enticing option and could still be available, but in the last week or so, he's been playing like a top-10 talent again and seems to be back up to speed after recovering from his injury.

Anyways, I'm a huge Zacha fan. He's like a Pacioretty/Landeskog cross. Canucks can use that kind of depth on their LW. I'm predicting that they'll pick between 10-15. There are some GOOD players available in that range, and Zacha could be one of them!

Ditto everything you said with the Jets mindset

I still think he a top 12 player in this year draft. By as an Oilers fan, I hope he slides to Pitts pick, but I doubt that will happen.

Yeah, that's true. Well, you know what his dad's like.....he's been drumming it into his head since he was a kid

Yes, I agree. And even though I agree with lots of things his dad says, I don't really get this attitude. Why everything has to be as soon as possible... Everything has its time imo :)

5 and a game for checking from behind says the no score tonight. Anybody see it?

Some teams are probably liking his agressive side but when does the lack of discipline start to effect him?

I don't think scouts see it as a big deal. It's more fixable than something like skating or size and to pass over someone as talented as zacha with the physical tools he has for discipline issues could make GMs look stupid in a few years. Once he's playing with bigger and stronger players, his hits won't look as vicious either

I'f the Pittsburgh pick ever fell to the 17-18 range, I'd love to see the Oilers try and make a play for Zacha if he fell to beyond the top 10. The guys is really skilled and while he may be a little undisciplined for the OHL I'd say his aggressiveness would be valuable for a team like the Oilers that have in the past been far too passive.

Of course the chances of the scenario above happening are not great.

I'd be ecstatic if this happened, but I agree, teams are going to look at his speed, size and shot (and let's be honest, aggression) and I think he'll be gone by 12.

I agree, I actually think he's probably gaining support by being one nasty S.O.B. out there.

I think he definitely needs to play a bit smarter, but I didn't see the play in question yet.

Something about this kid tells me he will be a Bruin. He plays like one already.

He is good friends with Pastrnak also.

No suspension. Goal and 2 assists tonight.

30 points in 31 games now, should cross the 1 PPG mark by season's end I would think,

Only got credit for 1 goal tonight. Thought he should have picked up at least 1 assist. Good game for him tonight, he scored the tying goal with less than 2 to play in the third then help setup the winner in OT from behind the net.

Glad he didn't get suspended, the Sting need him in the lineup right now and hopefully he can get hot heading into the playoffs.

People who watch him play, what's holding him back from putting up dominant numbers? Is it that he has bad hockey IQ or bad luck? He's got more size than Strome, he's fast, and he's got a good shot, yet is under a P/G (Defensemen like Roy and Provorov have similar P/G as him). You'd think with his size and skill he'd be dominating the OHL like Strome or Draisaitl in the WHL (even though he's got better skating).

A couple factors contributing to him not putting up big numbers. Seems like as soon he has found his groove this season he has been derailed by a suspension or injury, also he plays on a line with very young line including a 16 y/o rookie so its not like he's riding shotgun with established guys who are point getters. Sarnia is a very young team overall.

He's got all the tools to put up over a point/game even 1.5 in the OHL and he's putting together a nice stretch as of late with a goal today, should be over a PPG going into the playoffs, I expect him to breakout in a big way next year.

Where do people see him playing down the line, C or LW? IIRC he was considered a LW when he came over but apparently he has played at C for most of the season?

I second this, say the Leafs want a big bodied Centre at 6th, but Strome is taken. Is it a stretch to take Zacha and expect hm to be the #1 Centre of the future? Or would they be better off grabbing Werenski/Provorov despite their abundance of luck moving LHD?

I say it's a stretch, if you want a center take a center but he doesn't have to be big bodied, a 6'0 Barzal will provide more for your team than many other bigger centers.

I do like Barzal, I think he'd compete with Marner for #4 if he didn't get hurt and also play for a lacklustre team.

So that means Zacha is an official LW now? I remember at the beginning of the year he was a centre and a possible Top 5 pick, but i guess he didn't adapt quickly enough to the NA game

I think he is still at center I'm not too sure.

I don't like all the hype surrounding him.

Some team is gonna be real disappointed.

That's the feeling I get.
