I thought Zboril got cut too, but he had an assist on the one goal CZR scored against FIN

That was just the TSN box score being screwed up because another player has the number Zboril was using. There's a discussion about it in the [thread=1786993]Czech WJC roster thread[/thread].

He can't because he's in the CHL.

Well that explains Honka playing in the AHL. To add: Honka was taken in the CHL import draft. He was loaned to his CHL team for a year, and that loan expired which allowed him to go back to the FEL, and as you know, players drafted out of Europe can go where they desire. Like Rasmus Ristolainen

I'm fairly certain that Zacha is not "on loan" to the CHL. His father made a huge fuss about how poorly Zacha was being developed in the Czech league so it would seriously shock me if he didn't cut all ties to it.

You can't just get up and walk out of a contract. It may have been terminated by the club but I don't know.

Sarnia was advised that Pavel Zacha has a professional contract in Czech Republic for 2 more years and has no interest in playing for them.

Unless this contract has been terminated, he may be eligible for the AHL.

Yep. I've been searching for what happened with that contract, but I can't find anything that says he's either been loaned or the contract has been terminated.

Has anyone checked his dad's website?

What is his dad's website?

Even if he could be in the AHL, I don't see why you would put him there next year. He needs to dominate the OHL for a full year.

There's some recent examples of players moving up and performing well like Girgensons but I think another year in the OHL wouldn't hurt. He has a man's body already so the higher / tougher competition might be better for him.

Why does he NEED to? He's ready. By all accounts he is. He's not producing but on the ice he always makes things happen. Playing at a high level like the AHL would be perfect for him.

Like ONG alluded to, Girgensons went straight to the AHL.

They are 2 different players. Girgensons had already played 2 years in the USHL at a high level for his age. And had been playing in North America before the USHL stint.

Zacha is not even a point per game player in his first year in NA, you can not say he is ''dominating'' the OHL right now.

Girgensons wasn't exactly tearing up the USHL. He was playing well. Bad example

What because he's not scoring? He's played very well in the games I've watched.

Why does he need to dominate? He plays a pro style game. He should develop better in the AHL vs the CHL

Ristolainen was allowed to go to the AHL (I think) because his NHL contract was already ticking. Played, iirc, 18 games before being sent down. Most European contracts have NHL out clauses, but not AHL ones. Had he played 9 or fewer games, I think the Sabres would've needed to send him back to the FEL or get his FEL club to loan him to Rochester. :dunno:

One of the guys i thought was shafted at the wJC (goldobin being the other one, in terms of ice time). Continually looked dangerous whenever he got out there. Noticed he moves quite fast for a bigger kid

For the people questioning why he is a top 5-10 player tonight he showed why he is. I feel like I have been praising him in every thread, but he deserves it. He is really the full package and can do it all. Heres his two goals tonight. Nice backhand and a lucky one to tie it in the final minute, but really showcases his elite skating, and that has NHL scouts drooling that a guy this big has wheels like that.
