For some Sting fans, they got their first glimpse of high-touted Pavel Zacha. He was selected first overall in the Canadian Hockey League European Draft and is expected to go high in the 2015 National Hockey League draft.
Zacha was easily the best player on the ice and was the game's first star.
"He's come in here from day one with a great attitude," said Letowski. "You can tell he's been well-schooled and knows how to play the game the right way. He's a pleasure to have around and when he gets used to the smaller ice surface, he's going to be a real good player in this league."
"Letowski added, "He does so many good things on the ice and it's not just offence. He plays both ends of the rink, doesn't mind the physical part of the game, wants to win and works hard at his game. It was a good start for him, but he's only going to get better."
It's nice to have another top flight czech prospect, feels like it's been a pretty long time.
Hertl? Or was he never hyped enough while he was a prospect to qualify?

In Czech circles he is touted as the "Next Jagr". He was THE story this summer. Will he go to CHL, KHL, will he stay at home?...
Playing C or W in Sarnia?

Is this new Jagr stuff any different from the Swedish media calling Stralman the next Lidstrom?
Seems we have new Jagr or Hasek every few years, fans want the next one, so media do their best to give him one. Wonder what they'll do if the next one is defenseman
Who has ever been referred to as the next Hasek?
C in first pre-season match so far.
yeah, Hertl wasn't so high in predictions... I´m still wondering why is Zacha top 10 lock. Is really Zacha getting better than Hertl...? Or is it a mark for his work ethic ?
He's been talked about a lot more than Hertl for example but in my opinion it's been mainly due to the PR machine that is his father.
Zacha was in his 15yrs better player, than Hertl in his 17yrs. His journey and talent is the reason, not organized PR.

Hertl wasn't high because he was playing in the wrong league. He would have gone at least 10 picks higher if he'd played somewhere else. The skill was always there, he didn't just improve after the draft.
Sorry but no. You'd have a hard time convincing me that Zacha at 17 is better than Hertl was at 17, let alone this.
Sorry, but for 100% yes. Zacha was in his 15yrs TOP5 player in Czech junior league. Hertl (17yrs) was productive because he played with the most productive players in the league, but his true abilities are showed on the international scene without those players.
I'm too much drunk for this.
Zacha was better in his 15yrs... much better in 16yrs and he was more better in his 17yrs also. Hertl in 17yrs was average Czech junior.
