I'm going to pull this Quote up 34 games in :) hope you're not this negative in your regular life.

Best not to start doing that kind of thing unless you want people to pull up every quote where you are wrong. And trust me they will.
But you do you.

That doesn’t make me think he’ll be a very high pick. Small players who aren’t great skaters historically do not get picked high in the draft.

There are some clips on YouTube of him.. ull get what I mean. He can get from point A to point B real fast but just has that stalky type stride. Kinda hard to explain. He is just a small player and IMO his stride makes him look even smaller.

I am not ragging on the guy at all cause he is a very special player in his age group and will be a VERY good junior player and will put up a crap load of points in 2 to 3 years. I've always just questioned how he will be at the next level.

Have you even looked at how few players have actually scored 85 points in the WHL in the last 4 years?

If he scores 55-60 points it will be an excellent 16 year old WHL season.

Maybe keep it real because others will be revisiting this thread well before 34 games.........

Agree with you on all of this and here is an example of his skating.

I think he will be a WHL star but not until 20-21 and not sure yet how his game will translate to the NHL but it will be fun to watch his progression.

this is a better video

No one said he isn't a good skater, if anyone calls him average they have no clue. He's the top 2003 skater and very fast. You can tell who doesn't watch him when they point to 1 point in 7 games last year.

Because you have seen every prospect from the 2021 draft I will have to defer to you.:sarcasm:

His skating looks fine but as we get closer to the draft we have have better Intel.

Once again you really need to pump the brakes there are other players in the world.

I have a network and even posted my 2021 rankings. Hreschuk is my #1. Stat watchers are in for a rude awakening in 2021.

lol have you even seen him skate? That is one of his strong areas besides his shooting.

No, I haven't. Thats why I asked. I didn't get a description that makes me think he's a great skater. If you are under 6'0 and aren't a great skater, you historically are not going to be a top 5 pick. A lot of people seem to think this will change with Perfetti this year, but history says otherwise. He might still be a first round pick or a top 15 pick. I don't know because I haven't seen him play, but the early hype would seem outsized, if he's not a great skater. This is a draft section, not a junior hockey section. Who cares at this point how good he'll be in junior hockey if he's not one of the premier 2021 draft prospects?

There is no player 2003 or younger with a better shot and only Savoie has better skating but its only by a hair. Stankoven is on the same level as Savoie for skating

The issue is, in Kamloops it's been a loooonnnngggg time since Blazer fans had anyone to be REALLY excited about. And they finally got it, in Zary and Stankhoven.

We have to temper expectations right now.

As I stated above with predictions for Stankhoven for this upcoming season, I think even 45-50 points would be a huge success for a 16 year old.

Remember he's going to play against top pairings, and those guys know right out of the gate that they will have their hands full, so you can bet their focus will be extra on point whenever they match up.

16 year old Stankoven can surpass an 18 year old Heponiemi.

Don't forget about MJ Warriors rookie center Eric Alarie this preseason. 9 points, 4 goals, 5 assists in 6 games for a 1.50 PPG.
