C Leo Carlsson (2023, 2nd, ANA)

Tough to say. If it's true that Columbus really loves Smith, then it's a non issue.

I think there's a 90% chance Verbeek takes Fantilli at 2nd overall. Think he checks every box Verbeek would be looking for in a player so I would expect Carlsson to be available to Columbus. On them if they decide he's there guy but I personally think it's a great fit.
This should say if Portzline's guess is better than last years its a non issue.

Yeah true. I guess in my head I can't see Columbus waiting around on Michkov. Honestly if the Blue Jackets are intending for a quicker turn around, Carlsson might be their best bet outside of Bedard.

Its between Carlsson or Smith. Both Jarmo and JD have gone on record saying they are getting a top center in this draft. Im hopeful for Carlsson unless Anaheim changes things, they seem to like changing our plans picking within 2 spots ahead of us for the 3rd year in a row

The BJs were that high on Mintyukov and McTavish?

We know they had McTavish in their top 2 or 3 that year, ahead of Kent Johnson.

We don't know where they rated Mintyukov in particular, but he was very popular on the Jackets board. I had him 4th on my list.
Behind the blue shows otherwise on mctavish

He didn’t do much overall in the game yesterday vs Germany but it’s not a shot at him - I remember two years ago Owen Power was very quiet in Canadas first two games and by the end he was one of the go to guys. Carlsson showed flashes of what makes him good. Away from the puck he anticipated well and gets to the right areas. Was a play where he showed his in tight stick skills by quickly going inside out on the German D after he received a pass coming over the line and let a good shot go, ended up drawing a penalty on it. I think he’ll get better as the tournament goes on.
