As expected he made the Czech Hockey Games roster. Will be interesting to see if he gets one of Raymond, & Berggren on his wing, or both!

Ya but he doesn’t seem like a guy to go bury someone like Getzlaf was.
Maybe he will, when he gets stronger and faster.

He should. Who else? Pår Lindholm, Jacob De la Rose, Oscar Lindberg? None of this guys have the skills of Leo.

Then people will complain that his linemates were too good.
Well.. playing with a solid top 6 NHL-forward in Raymond today. He was still the best player on the team. If anything having better linemates elevated him even more. Whats also impressive is the fact that Carlsson has hardly played center all season, still Hallam sees something his Örebro coach didn’t and puts him at center at a higher level of competition and he just excels.

No way he goes later than 3rd imo. There should be teams who have him 2nd.
I can see a scenario where a team takes the chance on Michkov and Fantilli goes before Carlsson. But all this talk about how Smith is now in the same tier as Carlsson cause of the U18 bump, I don't buy it. I think if the choice is between Carlsson and Smith you have to take the former.

And of course this could turn out to be a really stupid take when we go back and review these threads in five years, but still. As of now I don't see any good argument for Smith over Carlsson.

So this is the next 2003 draft?
Absolutely…a generational superstar, 3-4 potential superstars, 10-15 more potential all stars, 45-60 guys with a case for being a first round pick…this draft has 2003/2015 written all over it!

Surprising tidbit where it’s such a strong crop, but it seems like the worst D crop in a long time, specifically from the NA countries. Some D with valuable upside, but no one that projects to be an all star or anything.

15 or so guys with the upside of being the best player CBJ has ever drafted…they should be ok 🤣
Eh, KJ has more upside than a lot of the first, and the work ethic to go with it. Jiricek as well.

The top 5 I agree though. This pick has the possibility to alter the franchise. It's not only the talent level of the potential prospects, but the situation they are being drafted into. The main base of the core is already on the roster. Just imagine Bedard/Carlsson/Fantilli being paired with Gaudreau from day one.

If you’re willing to concede an unproven 20 year old is already the best, sure. You’re probably right, but I was thinking more Rick Nash

He's gonna be playing with Silfverberg for Team Sweden so he's gonna learn about the city his most likely NHL team plays in via Silfverberg. Silf will be like having a scout on the team lol.

Please hockey gods let us have a smidge of lottery luck for the first time ever and let us have the potential superstar we need in Carlsson.
