Yeah Kreider for Matheson would be interesting, I’m not sure I’d love him playing with Fox since he’s kind of a bonehead.Put him with Schneider or Borgen.

Based on what miller said to Vince, I expect him to be moved as well.

Kandre for a similarly aged Center makes a ton of sense. Sully and Torts will be ripping their graying hair out watching KAM miss his assignments on a nightly basis. If he could actually play with the puck on his stick, like a Matheson type can, Id be more inclined to keep him.

I don’t know what type of center you are going to get for an inconsistent 2nd pairing LD. Probably not someone we would be thrilled with. If he was a RD it would be different.

I’d also add that playing in Carolina brings out the best version of most players. I doubt this guy is going to leave Carolina and get better.

When does Laf start getting the reputation of being a coach killer like Mika and Kreids do? 13 has worn a C at every level, has pedigree of being first overall pick, yet had his greatest disappearing act on- and off-ice this season when team desperately needed some leadership and guys to take bull by horns. His '24 playoff performance was an aberration.

I might agree if they didn’t already have a million LD already. Brodin, Middleton, and Buium. Spurgeon and Faber on RD. Don’t think it’s a fit.

They have a better chance to land laffy than Schneider. The issue is what assets do they have to actually trade for laffy? Willander and a pick? Willander may not be signing over bonus schedule in the elc, so this kind of move could be damage control for the canucks.

Idk but if the Rangers have identified Laf and KAM as guys to trade they can change the roster rather quickly. And thats on top of the anticipated Kreider and (hopefully) Mika exits.

Pittsburgh had worse goalies, defenseman and depth than us for years. We don’t have a Crosby obviously but I think Sullivan is the most qualified coach the Rangers have hired this century.

Gotta make improvements to the roster and give young players a shot going forward. That’s my main issue.

Why would you trade for Quinn when he's stated he wants to play with his brothers? He's going to NJD when he hits his UFA window. We need Adam Fox Prime. He used to be in the upper tier of defensemen but looked slow and wobblily last season. He really can dance and deke along the blueline when healthy.

Yep. I would be especially careful about players Carolina is willing to trade away or walk.

The coaching staff is significant to set a new culture, which is significant after this past season exposed how bad the Rangers currently is. But in terms of the roster, we need to get younger and faster at a few spots. I dont see that as the impossibility others do either. Sullivan is going to be here for the long haul if they are making him the richest coach in league history.
