Decided to break down the move by pulling out six frames. The sequence goes from the figure skating feet position as he recognizes the incoming hit, the stop and pirouette to avoid the hit while moving the puck to his right (look for the puck adjacent to Ducks pants on frame 4, and a skate kick puck to stick after visually re-acquiring it. Really impressive for a 6’4” tall player. Sorry for the dark capture, but still able to make out the details.

The speed and smoothness with which he did it, not losing the slightest beat, makes that one of the most impressive open-ice dangles I have ever seen.

For the first time this season, Kirby has passed both Hughes and Kakko in points. Admittedly Hughes has played in 3 less games, but still.

Crazy. Obviously they're all still rookies so who knows how they'll develop but Dach wasn't supposed to be ready for the NHL and he was definitely seen as being atleast a tier below J'Accuse and Kaapo Kakko

The Hawks moved Dach to the mid-range. His shot was fluid and smooth. He finished the workout by stepping out behind the opposing goal line. He splashed his first shot from behind the arc.
"How could you not draft me No. 3?" he shouted at Bowman.
He swished another.
"Look how good I am!"
Another ripped through the net.
"You need me, Stan!"
A fourth make.
"Come on, Stan, you gotta draft me!"
A fifth.
"I'm so good!"
A sixth.
"I gotta be No. 3!"
A seventh.
"How can you not take me?"
Smiles swept across the faces of Bowman and the rest of the Cavaliers brain trust. Bowman would later tell people that it was the best workout he'd ever seen. "He was like the second coming of Hakeem," he'd say. His mind was made. "He told us there he was taking Kirby No. 3," said Francois Nyam, one of Dach's agents at the time.

Honestly won't be surprised if he turns out the best player from that draft. Honestly reminds me of Eichel I'm glad he's changing his pre-draft perceptions with you guys.

Dach isn’t a bad skater, but Eichel is an elite skater. He’s one of the best skaters in the NHL.

He looked pretty good in the odd Chicago games I'd see. He rarely had any points but he looked solid, and that often translates into consistent scoring later on with young guys. Definitely impressed with him for an 18 year old.

90% people come on here and say they had Dach at 2nd or 3rd are absolute liars. Almost no one had Dach in the top 3 yet 80% of the people on here say they had him in the top 3. personally I had Cozens, Byram, Caufield , Zegras , Turcotte ahead of him but in a redraft right now he would go 1st. Terrific pick by the hawks management. As a habs fan I wish KK had his skating the guy seems to always fall and its a shame because he has terrific potential.

It's probably partially because the people who didn't have him top 3 don't bother posting about not calling it. We all like to post when we call it right. When I saw Dach playing for the Blades I knew his skating wasn't the issue people were making it out to be. He goes way faster than it looks like he's going. As an Av's fan I wanted him at #4, but I preferred Byram at the draft and had Byram at #3.

Feel free to check my post history... I was honestly disappointed he didn't fall to the Avs.

I had him third and said multiple times that he was my favourite player in the draft:

Yup. Friedman just said he expects Dach to go 3rd and Oilers reporters are sounding certain he'll be gone before the Avs pick.

FWIW, I have him ranked 3rd. He'd be a great pick.

You might be right about that. His skating seems to be really good not Eichel, McDavid, MacKinnon good but I feel like he can become close to that. yeah a center line of Mackinnon,Dach,Kadri would have been really nice. Btw what a steal Kadri was for you guys.
