He’s clearly the top forward in the draft at this point. The Pettersson comparison is pretty solid.
Still, I struggle to say he’s the top pick right now, when I see so much Victor Hedman in Power and Seth Jones in Clarke.
The only thing I am set on is that it’s hilarious how many rankings still have Raty above any of that trio.
Ya he’s kinda who I’m hoping the ducks would aim at but I see us more in the 4-7 range... guess we’ll seeIs Kent Johnson going to be a contender for 1st oa? He looks like dynamite. Would love to draft this guy
I don’t see it right now but I’d be shocked if he falls out of the top 7 at this point. There’s a lot of runway for him to become the 1OA guy but he’s not in the tier with Clarke and Power for me right now.Is Kent Johnson going to be a contender for 1st oa? He looks like dynamite. His speed and skill he’ll be at least top 5 if not top 3...and he has just a good of shot at going 1 as anyoneI don’t see it right now but I’d be shocked if he falls out of the top 7 at this point. This Beniers - Johnson line just gets it.
Like their past 3 shifts have been 20-30 seconds off offensive possession like they are on a power play with like 3 scoring chances each shift. They spend the entire time in the offensive zone.
He’s my fav for 1OV. Great start.
Umm, or maybe his teammate Owen Power? Power is the clear #1 favourite at this point.
Pretty insane for Michigan though likely 2 top 5 picks and likely 3 top 10 picks. Heck of a class from them.
I honestly do not see the infatuation with Power besides his size and mobility, he is very offensive minded but his defensive game is weak, he was beat 3-4 times tonight off the rush, and his stick for a big guy is not the best. Very good under pressure and making plays though. For me he’s 10-15.Umm, or maybe his teammate Owen Power? Power is the clear #1 favourite at this point.

Defense is also the harder position to learn. It's one game and he looked incredible at generating offense. But again, the sample size is tiny so let's pump the breaks okay?I honestly do not see the infatuation with Power besides his size and mobility, he is very offensive minded but his defensive game is weak, he was beat 3-4 times tonight off the rush, and his stick for a big guy is not the best. Thanks to @Pavel Buchnevich for pointing me to the Big10 package, it’s been fun to watch so far.
If anyone is looking for some entertainment pre NHL/whatever else, UMich is it.

Could be 6 current or future michigan first rounders in next years draft alone, and 4 of the top 10. Power, Johnson, Beniers, Luke Hughes, Mackie Samoskevich, and Dylan duke.

Who was playing center? Johnson or Beniers?
Beniers did last game. I wouldn't read too much into it, but I will say that both looked very good.Who was playing center? Johnson or Beniers?
Theres not a chance there are 9-14 better players than him in this draft. He's a lock as a top 5 barring some type of disastrous seasonI honestly do not see the infatuation with Power besides his size and mobility, he is very offensive minded but his defensive game is weak, he was beat 3-4 times tonight off the rush, and his stick for a big guy is not the best.
