The weirdest thing is that his draft ranking didn't shoot up much more after his U18 dominance. I've never heard that explained anywhere.
I haven’t heard anyone talk directly about it but the Sabres draft video of their group talking before the draft brought it up as having gotten everyone’s attention. They were talking about him at pick 16 and then tried to move up a bunch of times when they picked Ostlund there instead. So they certainly had him rated higher with the U18s as a factor. I guess they just got lucky that 17-27 had at least one guy higher every pick. I mean...they did it too at 16. Which is where I was banging the table for him on draft night while drinking in my friend’s basement.

Not for nothing, but the Amerks were dead in the water down 2-0 in a best of 5 until Kulich returned, then they won 3 straight to take the series. Obviously, it wasn't all due to him, but his timely goal scoring was severely missed. Kid has a CANNON. Just needs to clean up his defensive game, and he'll be a good one.

And he's only 18. He's having a RARE season for an 18 year old.

it's wild to think Quinn had one of the best seasons in the past 20+ years last year for his age range (AHL), and now Kulich is following it up with another top tier season for his age range.

Adams may know what he's doing in regards to drafting and developing these kids in the AHL

Kid has 9 points in 6 games this postseason, and the team is 6-0 with him in the lineup.

His shot beat Woll CLEAN today. With how Woll played in the playoffs, Kulich beating him clean like that shows me his shot is absolutely going to be an NHL strength. If he can round out his other areas, he will be a big time player

This has been a huge playoffs for Rosen as well. Theyre gaining valuable experience on this run. The most encouraging part is, they've both been key contributors throughout the playoffs.

You love to see it. Peterka and Quinn last year. Rosen and Kulich this year. Just churning out talent in Rochester.

Ill be going to a game this round. For sure!

6 play-offs game, 1 goal in each of them
18 year old rookie having a 6 game goal streak in the AHL play-offs... sure.
Has anyone ever done that?

Haven't found anyone on EP, but they don't go back that far. Adrian Kempe had 8 goals as an 19-year old in 2015. Stephane Richer had 6 goals in 9 games as an 18-year old back in 1985. Not a lot of others - not many players in the league at that age, few who have success who don't wind up promoted to their big club so they don't often have playoff runs.

Yeah, have seen plenty of Woll’s games this year, Leafs and Marlies, regular season and playoffs, and he almost never gets beat that cleanly, when perfectly set, on a wrist shot that far out. Kulich’s shot is very, VERY good.
