Don't see him on the final roster. Was he invited to Canada's U20 camp?
No, he was left off. Next year he will probably get an invite.

As has been mentioned before, he also has dual citizenship with canada/US, so not sure if he has declared for either.

Is there any word on the OHL coming back?

If not he will at least be able to attend the Ducks training camp as we have signed him.

I think if he had any interest in playing for the U.S. it would have become apparent at this point. Could be wrong on that I suppose.

Finished his first pro game with a nice primary assist on a 2 on 1. He had several great passes to set up grade A chances, and he showcased his shot a few times as well, including hitting a post early on. He easily exceeded my expectations for him in his first AHL game.

think Ducks call him up later on this season?

not like they are making playoffs so why not?

Highly doubt it... Perrault def needs a year in the AHL.... but i think hell prob get called up at times next year.

Outside of Zegras/drysdale/dostal

Perrault is a guy im super excited about, hes got a lot of tools to be a pretty good goal scorer at the NHL level.

2-3 years down the line Comtois- Zegras - Perrault could be a pretty nice line.

I had no idea who he was until tonight (did not follow the 2020 draft). He took an innocent hit and got flattened. I'm just not a fan of 18 year olds playing in the AHL.. which is a bit of goon league and rough physically too.

He was good last night but he's getting physically punished tonight. Hopefully he learns something from this game, but I'm glad that he is getting back up and not looking shaken in his aggression given the beating he's taken.

Also, this Condors team is huge, significantly bigger than the Gulls.

The Condors are an older team (D prospects are with the Oilers and forward prospects are in other leagues) not necessarily bigger IMO. Albeit, Vincent Desharnais is 6'7" and makes decisions like a turtle (wasn't a fan of him last season but he's okay so far). He might be lucky to play ONE NHL game 5 years from now due to emergency call up. Niemelainen is 6'6" also...

If you've watched enough AHL... there are players like Zach Stortini, Steve MacIntyre, etc. that get cups of coffee in the NHL as fighters but are AHL regulars - which is why I prefer to keep 18/19 year olds out of the league.

4 points total in last 2 AHL games...
That's after a month of pause he had because of an injury.
Production is there (last 2 games), I would like him to drive the play a bit more but hard to argue what he's doing at 18 years old. The Gulls have been scoring a lot in those games, will be interesting to see how he produces going forward.

I wouldn't expect his NHL debut this season though.

Jacob's younger brother Gabe was just named to the USNTDP u17 team . I wonder if their father Yanic is pushing the boys more in the direction of representing the US. I hope this isn't the case and Jacob plays for Canada going forward

Have we seen brothers play for different countries recently?

Rarely happens , RabidRanger has the last examples I can remember with the Foligno's and Reichels. Adam Musil was leaning towards Canada but in the end wasn't good enough for their u20 team and ended up representing Czech Republic like his brother David. The Musils are now playing on the same team at this years World Championsips for the Czech Republic. Another opportunity which this can happen would be with the Namestnikov's and if Max decides to represent USA instead of Russia.
