Buffalo isn't trading up to 1st. You can stop talking about it now...

It wouldn't shock me, Murray is literally obsessed with McDavid while he has said little about Eichel. He may not be willing to pay the price but I could see him at least in talks about it.

"I watch him too much and I think too much about him,” Murray told the New York Times. “I wish I could help myself.” - Murray talking about McDavid.

eichel + reinhart straight up.

Can you just stop with this garbage? Murray talks about Eichel all of the time. He gets asked about McDavid more beause *gasp* McDavid is Canadian and Murray gets interviewed by Canadians more. That quote was in a NY Times article about McDavid. Not about Eichel.

i just see a lot of getzlaf in the way he can just hold on to the puck and scan the ice and deliver a perfect pass. its hard to take the puck off him and he is such a good skater that he can beat you with his speed aswell.

Buffalo should be ecstatic if they can pick Eichel.

Eichel
Reinhart
Girgensons
Grigorenko

And he said that quote was taken from an interview which covered solely McDavid. He also said that McDavid and Eichel are really close.

There aren't any legitimate chances that he is trading one of his future corner-stone players just to draft McDavid instead of Eichel. It's like Kings trading Kopitar and Doughty for Crosby or Anaheim trading Getzlaf and Perry for Toews. It just isn't realistic.

It definitely wouldn't make sense to trade Getzlaf and Perry for Toews considering Getzlaf is better

Yeah, because it just makes so much sense to first let the whole world know how obsessed you are with a player and then trade for him, so you can handsomely overpay.
McDavid will stay put, regardless of who gets him.

someone told me he's up to 6'4 200+ lbs now, any truth to this? or is 6'2 194 more accurate
He said himself at the beginning of the season he was 6'0.5", I could see him maybe being 6'1" at the combine. His father and brother are pretty tall.

Less then a week away before Eichel knows his destination. He's either going to Buffalo or Arizona 100% guaranteed. Either Buffalo wins the lottery and Arizona stays in 2nd or a lower team does and Buffalo falls to #2. Im sure Eichel will prefer staying in the northeast and be in the blue and gold.

He definitely looks taller than that already, at least 6'2.

Kinda crazy that Eichel knows he's going to one or two places while McDavid could still go to one of fourteen

The one pretty unfair thing about the lottery system in its current state is that the second-best player in a draft is guaranteed to go to one of the worst teams. It seems counter-intuitive that the best player in the draft could go to any of the non-playoff teams, even those that just missed it, but the second-best player is guaranteed to go to a terrible team. Which is one of the big reasons why I'm against the lottery.

The Gold System is the only way to go. Makes too much sense for the NHL to do it though.

It doesn't, though. It induces teams that know they have no shot of a playoff position to tank earlier. Next year's draft makes sense, since the top three positions of the draft are determined by lottery.

so far, looking at the US roster for the World Championships, Eichel could be the team's #1 center and Larkin the #2 center... still more names to be confirmed so that will likely (hopefully) change, but what a showcase opportunity for Eichel as he will have the chance to shine against pro players playing a top 6 role for this USA team...

go beat up on those 17 year olds McDavid, Eichel has bigger fish to fry :handclap::sarcasm:

1) How is that any different than what Buffalo did this season?

2). Teams can't tank that hard because they still need to be good enough to win games.

Don't mean to hijack the thread.
