It was shoulder, was hard when he came back, then found his game again.

No player has been as dominant as a 16yo here since pierre marc Bouchard.

It’s hard to find flaws in his game

To be honest, your team's nhl prospects history is average at best.

Like PMB, he does play on the softer side, not really strong on board battles. Other than that he's a beauty.

I’ve never had that impression. He won’t initiate contact but he battles hard and chases down loose pucks along the wall. Definitely not scared to be hit.

This kid is so smart. Makes so many quick intelligent plays.

I know the Bergeron comparisons get tossed around too much but he does remind me of Bergeron

love his hockey sense but I don't really see high end puck skills with him and he really needs to improve his skating as well.

He was , in my opinion , the best player on Team Canada at the recent Hlinka Tournament and will be a more impactful player in the NHL than most of the more touted players who will be drafted in the 2020 draft. This kid is gold.

I see him as similar to Peyton Krebs. Strong motor and skilled in most important areas, but with enough sloppiness to his game that you wonder if he's every going to be an elite talent. Just too many plays that don't get executed to perfection and end up in turnovers. He has the whole year to continue to improve, of course, but at moment I'd have a lot of guys ahead of him at 3.

It was one of the first times I've heard of him so I didn't know. If he's comparable to Peyton Krebs then that speaks volumes for him. Could be a top 5 talent in next year's draft.

Can the kid actually score or no?

He definitely can and I’m sure the goals will start coming more but he doesn’t shoot much. Only about 2 shots per game and defers to his teammates a lot because of how great of a playmaker he is. Reminds me a lot of Alex Tanguay in that regard.

His linemates aren’t currently ones known for their playmaking, Kotkov especially is a great goal scorer and they compliment one another well, but he’s shown the ability when put with good playmakers (see u18s) that he can score. He’s such a smart player that he definitely puts himself in good places to score.

After a pretty good start to the season, Lapierre has now missed a couple of games due to a concussion. This is after having missed a month of play last year, also because of a concussion. This is a bit worrying, both for his health in general and for his future hockey career. Even if he comes back soon and plays well, this will likely affect his standing at the draft.

With this plus Rochette not playing because of mono, it's been a rough start to the year for the Sags 2020 prospects.

Just watched him for the first time. I really like his feel and play away from the puck, but definitely needs to simplify his game w/ the puck more. He’s not skilled enough to beat guys 1v1 and toedrag all the time etc.....which he (Atleast in the game I watched kept doing) if he does simplify his game a bit, I see a Lars Eller esque player but with a bit of a higher ceiling offensively imo.

I have a hard time seeing him going in the first round now. But at this point I don't think the draft should be his primary concern. 3 concussions in 8 months for a guy who hasn't turned 18 yet ...

I hope the Sags shut him down for the year. There are things more important than hockey.
