Here are my notes from my 4 viewings on him.

Great puck distribution on the PP. Good zone coverage in the defensive zone. He made a couple of risky moves as the last guy behind which were unecessary. Great vision to find teammates on transversal passes. Always make smart passes. For example, he steps up to attract the opponent to then pass beside him. Above average strength. He reads his opponent and throw some well timed stick-lift. Great hand-eye coordination to dodge stick-checks from defencemans. Precise wrist shot top left. He has a great vision and his passes are smooth. He doesn't need to look at his teammate to know where they are. He has an great top speed and was able to easily pass defenceman with it. When establish in the offensive zone, he freezes the goalie and defenceman by looking at the net like he's going to shoot to set up his teammates aside of him. Never outmatch physically. Smart complete player. He has a very precise short pass and can make the opponent think he going to go for a shot before passing it to his side. He distributes the puck well on the PP by skating around his side and looking at every passing line. He has a great vision. In fact, he has great passes in all three zones and he helps the zone exits and zone entries. His hockey IQ is really high. Just for example, when he wants to pass to his teammate on the other side of the ice, he will face the goalie and make him think he's going to shoot to then set up his teammate with an empty net. When establish in the offensive zone, his passing is nearly perfect. He loves to stay on the left side and dictate the play. That's why he is so effective on the PP. He is fast and he has great hands too.

I think he is the 2nd best prospect out of the Q for 2020 after Lafrenière.

40 points in 41 games right now in the Q, second on his team in points and would likely have 50 points or more if it wasn't for his injury that kept him out for 3 weeks and then his lack of production in the 6-7 games after coming back.

Looks like a legit first round pick next year who has been underrated all along his development path and could be a top 10 guy in my opinion. Love this player.

At this point, 18 months I would agree he is looking like a 1st round pick for sure and could be in the top 20 when it is all said and done.

Not sure how you say he was underrated, he was the 1st overall pick in the Q draft. Has always been a good player.

The thing is even in his draft year in the Q he was kind of always an underdog and everyone seemed to talk about Poirier, Bordeleau, Guay and guys like that and now in the Q many think Lawrence is a top notch first rounder and some other guys like Byfield can't even outproduce Lapierre and they're talked as Lafreniere competitors. So in a way I think he's massively underrated, and even last year it was hard to convince some people that he was the best player available for the Q draft. Just my opinion that he's overlooked a bit by people despite his incredible resume.

I saw 2 threads on him so wasn’t sure which one to post in...

But I was just wondering, why is this kid not a consensus top 10 player for 2020?

Will be interesting to see how he does during his draft year and how it affects his draft stock. He seems like he's going to be a good player.

Hendrix is an amazing player and personally I can see him going top 15 in the draft, excellent speed and agility, great puck handler, excellent playmaking and vision and is a very smart player kid makes others around him better but he also does very good cutting through the defense with his speed and agility.
Alexis Lafrenierre
Justin Barron
Hendrix Lapierre
Jeremie Poirier
Theo Rochette
Lukas Cormier
Maverick Bourque
Dawson Mercer
William Villeaneauv

are all going to be big time prospects for next years NHL Draft

I think that’s how I’d order them right now, too, but with Bourque jumping up over Rochette. Should be a really good year for the Q - even beyond providing the presumptive 1OA. Hard not to see at least 7 of those guys breaking the first round IMO.

I wonder who's more skilled between him and Stranges. He looked untouchable in 3 on 3 in the first u18 scrimmage

I mean he should be in everyones top 10 and other than Lafreniere as the clear #1 the group from 2 to outside the top 10 is pretty close. Will be a very interesting year who separates themselves from the pack
