And this is why the Coyotes were the only team to really lose at the lottery.
Yes they did, the difference between the top two and the rest is astronomical.
I really really hope the Leafs have scouts watching these games. All i have seen from Strome is a lot of floating, not even trying to finish a check, not getting engaged in a puck battle or anything to warrant a top 5 pick. I am a Marner fan trying to like Strome but i can't bring myself to do it. I am hoping Hanifin falls into the Leafs lap but if he goes 3 i'll be extremely happy if we took Marner. I think he has more skill to begin with and he at least shows a win at all costs style of play!
As a leafs fan i hope Arizona's scouts put too much stock into one bad game like you guys are doing so Strome is still there at 4.

That edmonton won the lottery (again) is going to hurt for the next decade. Arizona literally can't win for losing.
It really is not fair.![]()
Pretty sure Leafs are taking one of Marner and Hanifin. Hunter and Dubas all value speed and skill over size. Marner gives 100% every night in every zone (something Leaf fans haven't been able to say about our stars in a long time). I was ok with drafting Strome at 4 if Marner was gone (would have preferred Hanifin though), but now i'll be disappointed.
Like I've said numerous times before, Marner is head and shoulders above Strome. Marner is elite in many aspects and is a game-changer. He carries his team. Strome does not. He's had good numbers because the opposition plays their best players against the McDavid line.
If you put Strome on London and put Marner on Erie, Mitch would be talked about as potentially denting the top 2 this year.
This coming from somebody who likes Strome. But it is very evident Marner is on another level.
One year of viewings <<<< a playoff series
Apparently.
