Hmm I thought he had a pretty good game 3. Maybe people think he should be scoring like McDavid out there?

Very Solid prospect. I would take him at 4.

Agreed. Strome has massive potential.. effort level doesn't seem to be there in these playoff games, but that's not that big of a deal in the long run, especially when you consider that he's ranked inside the top 4-5 in virtually every list you come across.
What scares me is that his hustle never looks particularly good, in any game I've seen of his. He's big, he's got great vision and a nice shot, but he's also a bit slow, a bit soft, and tends to look uninvolved in the play. Not a puck retreiver. Even though he's a big centre, while Marner's a small winger, I'll be surprised if Strome gets taken first. Marner shows way more hustle, plays a much better 2-way game, and looks a lot more dynamic and dangerous with the puck on his stick.

Marner wants the puck. Strome wants the puck to come to him.

I'd be thrilled with Strome as a Leafs fan. Surprised to see how much hate he's been getting. Just makes him an even better fit!

Purely speculation but sportsnet guys mentioned how it looked like he has been labouring out there and they suggested that something may be wrong (injured)

The 6' 3" Strome could take some lessons in compete level from the 5' 5" DeBrincat. Strome is a great prospect and deserves to be a top 5 pick. That doesn't mean though he's not one of the worst players on the Otters right now which he is.

Must be injured, because another bad showing again tonight. If this is how he responds under pressure, its not good.

Could fall due to this showing

I remember Grigerenko was a lock to be a top 4 pick before dropping to 13. Could happen with him. Both look similar on ice too

The leading scorer of the OHL dropping past the top 5? That would be nearly impossible. One team might skip him in the top 5 and take Marner instead but Strome will not drop to the 6th overall pick.

Crazier things have happened. Maybe not to 13, but Barzal is rising and so is Provorov. Some team might go crazy with Crouse too

Maybe 7 max if everything goes wrong for him.

That being said, its only one series

He doesn't look nearly as bad as some posters are suggesting. His stride looks VERY awkward though...much more than usual. He could be injured. Strome will not drop past 4.

I'm not going to lie I've seen him a few times this season and each time I would think I wouldn't know he was a top 5 prospect by watching him and if it wasn't for his name I wouldn't have noticed him much. Obviously he's had good games that I didn't see but it just makes you wonder. With Grigs he flashes his offensive skill everytime he had the puck he just was lazy without it or didn't work to get it, but the offense wasn't a question. I havn't seen the same obvious ability with Strome as of yet.

It could happen that he falls around 5 to dare I say it 8 or so, remember when Sean Couturier was projected as the first overall pick for half of the 2010-2011 season until Huberdeau proved he was the better prospect from the Q. The scouts looked past the points he put up the first half of the year.
