Glad to see him doing well. Just hope he doesn't get called up till next year. be extra patient with him.

What’s the point of this post?
Leafs fans have had this extremely bizarre but unrelenting and and uncontrollable insecurity about the Coyotes passing on their precious Mitch Marner for Dylan Strome. As a result many of them are compelled to seek out every opportunity to drag Dylan Strome. Despite Marner's tremendous early success and high likelihood of always being the superior player, they just can't stop themselves. Every Strome thread is filled with Leafs fans just pouring their insecurities into posts. Marner is great. Mission accomplished. They just can't let it go and enjoy their own great young player. It's actually pretty pathetic. If we had Marner, we wouldn't give two shits about Strome. Just appreciate what you have. Damn.

At this rate, when and will he make his debut for the rising Coyotes? They are starting to show some life to match their fine young talent.

I can see where you’re coming from, but I’d appreciate it if you added “some” or “certain” before referring to Leaf fans. I’ve been an avid supporter of Strome from the start, and we’re not all bad. :)

Solid point. Another case of there being an extreme minority of Leafs fans who are extremely annoying. It's just the sheer size of the base that makes it feel like "Leafs fans" are responsible when the reality is, it's a very small percentage who have this issue. I apologize to the 98% of Leafs posters on this forum who aren't doing this.

There are 100x more Leafs fans than Coyotes fans on this site. So we're outnumbered even by just the small goofball segment Leaf fans. :)

I would add it is just a select group of Leafs fans that do this. Same thing happens with the value of OEL threads and the Matthews vs Laine keyboard arguments.

99664987 beat me to it.

Haven't seen him play but the stats look fantastic.

I would hope the Coyotes would let him stay in the AHL this year and dominate and bring him up next season. Maybe get him into a few NHL games at the end of this season as an acknowledgment for what he's been accomplishing this year (assuming he keeps it up).

The key is when they call him up they need to put him in a position to succeed for a long period. Every time he struggled he was moved further down the lineup. The kid can play so surround him with some talent.

We see you’ve been putting together quite a hot streak! Got you confidence up, eh?

Here’s 10 minutes a game with some scrubs. Adios!

Hopefully this isn’t what occurs.
Problem is, they don't have enough talent on the wings overall to try to run 3 balanced lines. So, one of Strome or Dvorak will get shafted. They have 4 pretty good wingers or better in Keller, Domi, Perlini and Duclair. Fisher is also pretty good, but also young. Maybe the try to run a top 9, but Strome or Dvorak with other young guys, but a coach will always have issues depedning too heavily on that, and the only winger has proven to be somewhat consistent at the NHL level is Domi. Duclair has always been inconsistent, while Keller, Perlini and Fisher haven't really played many NHL games. I'd try something like this, but it could lead to problems.

Perlini-Stepan-Fisher
Domi-Strome-Duclair
Keller-Dvorak-Rieder

But, that leads to a minutes cut of guys like Domi, Stepan and Keller, but it gives all their young players a chance to play with actual talent, but puts a heavy emphasis on each of Domi, Stepan and Keller to somewhat carry their lines.

Interesting to see where he lines up, But I have to think he takes Richardson's place with perhaps Keller and Fischer as linemates. Coyote fans does this sound good? I like it.

As a Leafs fan, I think I have a bit of a fascination with Dylan Strome and his development but it doesn't have that much to do with Marner. More like what happens when you come across a prospect who checks off all your organizational wants but doesn't jump out of the gate as quickly as you want? Just one of the rebuilding quirks and pains.

God what a dumb move. Just leave him there for the year. That's all they had to do. Let him lead his team to the playoffs, learn how to be a pro, let him play in in the AHL playoffs, win the MVP and scoring title, and tell him to be ready to go for next year's camp.

I'd be over the moon if they did that. Give Strome Richardson's spot between Keller and Fischer. Drop Richardson into Cousins spot between Rinaldo and Martinook where he belongs. Cousins can be 13F as he should be.

Perlini-Stepan-Rieder
Domi-Dvorak-Duclair
Keller-Strome-Fischer
Rinaldo-Richardson-Nook

Those fans embarrass us too.

Strome has a supporter in me (grew up close to where I did) and I've keenly been following his development.

Those are the top 3 lines and people are wondering why they might have one of the worst seasons in recent history

Check Domingue’s save percentage. Main reason they struggled to start season.

That's why they were on pace to be historically bad, but they are still poor by xGF% models (2nd last in the league) and bottom 5 in CF%. They are still 2nd worst in the league in both, when adjusted for score and venue.

Given 11 minutes of ice time (in a game that went to OT) and hardly used as a centre. Great job, Arizona, I called it.

He played in the first with PP1 time and looked like poop. Skating is fine but as I’ve said before his decision making is sloooooooow. Basically killed off the PP for the Yotes in the first with his indecision behind the net. He needs a full year in the AHL.
