Some of what say is true but yes you can shelter him. He won't get many starts in the d-zone. Those will go to Gordon and Nuge. As for d matchups, at home you can dictate that somewhat. On the road much harder. But opposing coaches may want to matchup against the Pouliot-Nuge-Eberle line anyways as that line was very dangerous this year going up against the toughest matchups. If you matchup against McDavid-Hall then Nuges line will kill you. I guess we'll see what happens next year
Fair enough. Right, you can give him mostly offensive zone starts and at home it is easier indeed. But my point still stands and I don't think thera are too many lines on the Oilers that should get that much more defensive zone starts just to shelter someone who is maybe instantly the best player on that team.
