This is getting silly. Almost 3ppg through 12. This is just unreal. I thought he would be Tavares level, maybe Stamkos level. He's starting to look more and more like he's apporaching that next level.

He will probably end up in Florida. Damn.

Hopefully, you're right;)

(vs Kitchener Rangers, Oct 10)
Pretty nice video I found. For people that havent seen him besides highlights. Besides the points, kind of an off game for him in terms of generating chances.

Note: there is a period near the 5 min mark where a few shifts repeat.

This kid looks to be Crosby-level imo...
Close, at least. I'm not sure he's quite Crosby level, but not far off. Until now the best prospect I've seen since Crosby is Tavares, but I think McDavid's skating puts him a notch higher. The main thing that makes me feel McDavid isn't quite at Crosby's level is his general tenacity/puck hounding - Crosby is always going so ****ing hard after the puck, winning it back constantly, while McDavid waits for others to win it back significantly more. Part of this could just be him being a bit bored at this level, but for me that's a point that separates McDavid and prospect-Crosby, since they're otherwise so similar.

That's a pretty fair evaluation. Definitely lacks that tenacity. But I honestly think he is the more physically talented of the two.

I see this as well. I don't see the drive or killer instincts in McDavid that Crosby has. Not necessarily a bad thing, as Gretzky/Lemieux didn't have a game like that either, so I wouldn't say it's a knock against him, just makes him a different type of player.

If you think he lacks killer instinct then you need to watch more McDavid clips. A simple mistake around him and the puck is in the back of the net. Nobody in the Ohl drives harder or faster to the goal than him.

Wow. McDavid and Strome are just clinical. So impressed with McDavid's balance, and strength on his skates. Ability to make a quick cut, and edge work are superb too.

I meant it more in a sense of he doesn't hound the puck or fight for the puck as much. Like another poster said, he seems to wait for the puck to come to him more, and will let his teammates do the gritty work.

Oh gotcha. He seems to have stepped his physicality up a lot this year, but I would agree he isn't getting his nose too dirty. I think this helps him in some ways as far as seeing the ice and anticipating what is going to happen next.

Well Buffalo, your not so secret tank is going well. Enjoy having McDavid or Eichel lead your team/ league in points for the next 15 years...:handclap::amazed:

A"C' is just ridiculous if Tavs was a B. :sarcasm:
I don't remember Tavares off the top of my head but I think he was a 9 or 9.5B. Crosby was a 10C. 9.5B or 10C would probably be appropriate for McDavid.

I'd give McDavid a 10C at this point. I think 9.5B is a bit generous. If anything, he might have a higher max ceiling than Sid based on his size and skating advantage but a lower chance of achieving it based on his weaker lower body and lower compete level (not that hes not a competitor but he's not Crosby competitive).
