Crosby was better at 16 than Mcdavid is I think. That being said, I think Mcdavid has potential to be better than anyone besides Crosby if he keeps on track. It's a lot of pressure, expectation and hype for a young kid to go through but he seems like he has the right attitude. I'm hoping hes something special

This^. It's going to be very hard to top what Crosby has done so far, while he has been healthy.

The first pick in 15 is going to be huge though a complete turnaround type of guy for the team that picks him.

New Jersey maybe?

From what I've seen, the kid has some serious skills. We'll see how well he does against top tier talent, but it'll be interesting nonetheless.

In my opinion, at his level of skill its absolutely amazing. I predict him as a better version of John Tavares. John's problem was he ended up on a team that could never re-group and get better. He didn't have a good winger for him. But he still is very good.

But for Connor he will be an elite top NHL'er no doubt.

Better version of John Tavares? The same John Tavares that was a Hart finalist this year? JT is already a top ten player at the age of 22, it is highly unlikely McDavid will be anywhere near Stamkos/Crosby/Tavares

Why is that highly unlikely?

Why is that highly unlikely?

There's three types of people. Conservatives, Liberals, and Moderates when it comes to hockey.

Conservative hockey fans think that the best days of hockey have already been played and the talent in the NHL is better than the talent that will come through.

Liberal hockey fans think that next year's draft is better than the previous year's draft and that the next best thing is always around the corner.

Moderate hockey fans realize that the ebbs and flows of prospects and talent is normal and that, in general, the talent level of a good first overall pick hasn't changed too much in the past 20 years with a handful falling out of the standard deviation either way.

Damn, thanks to you guys, I really can't wait to watch his rookie season. xD I feel bad for him though, so much damn pressure at that age... There are kids his age who break from the pressure of a more or less challenging school system and this guy has the whole hockey nation discussing him.

I know a lot of posters think the hype's unwarranted, but when you see this kid play, you get it. He's just on another level compared to everyone else on the ice. He does everything so well and has, really, no flaws that won't be improved as he matures physically. He's such a talent.

Yeah, this kid is the real deal. He just does everything superbly. He seems almost bust-proof as well. Just a guy who was born to play the game. He is a phenom and I can't wait to watch him play in the N.

He's gonna start his second season in the OHL (13-14). Unless you meant his NHL rookie season.

He is the real deal, I would say he has the upside of a certain player but that really isn't true..the sky is the limit, he will be a #1 center at 18 years old. It's rather obvious who has and has not seen him play, you will not find someone who has seen him play saw he is not a phenom
