To quote Bob MacKenzie, "he's a generational talent".
Will he be better than Crosby?
Even Crosby isnt as good as Crosby!

I think the best players in the long-run never get selected in the top 5. Too much hype.
Crosby was better at 16 than Mcdavid is I think.
Just as Mackinnon will good but a level below Crosby, McDavid will be good but a level below MacKinnon.
Can't wait to hear the conspiracy stuff when the 13th overall pick or something wins the lottery
Can't whoever wins it only move up 5 spots ?
Hes the next Crosby, Tavares, Stamkos and Mackinnon. Canada always has some superstar coming up hes next. I would even throw Eberle into those names.
He's good, but he'll never be Mark Bell good.
Anyone putting Mackinnon above McDavid at this point should have their opinion immediately disregarded. Not even close at the same age. You can really tell who has not seen McDavid play. Its obvious hes just on a higher level than your regular 1st overall pick, even an above-average one like Mackinnon. Or Ekblad and Reinhart next year.
Just a tier higher, in my opinion.
McDavid's upcoming season is what should be compared to Crosby's rookie season with Rimouski.
How much should a year already in the CHL factor in the comparison?
The kid still has 2 more seasons to play before getting drafted. Setting your expectations so high leads to disappointment. If he can get anywhere close to a 2.0 PPG next season... Than I might start to buy into the Tavare/Crosby hype. Until then, he's a 16 old kid that, albeit full of promises, still has a lot to prove.
