Perhaps you should have used a relevant comparable, if that's not what you're getting at. Calling someone a "Daigle" is to call him a dumb guy with a muffin who can skate and doesn't care.

Perhaps you should read the post because I didn't call anyone Daigle.

Can anyone around here read a post all the way through and not take something out of context?

Like I said, all the tools and it's up to him to be Crosby level or Daigle-don't-give-a-fack level

To be on Daigle's level, McDavid would need to forget how to shoot, get dumber and not care.

All aboard the hype train. Choo choo!

Let's wait until the damn kid is draft eligible before we start saying how much better of a prospect he is than Sid was.

What separated/separates Crosby is his determination to continue getting better. Lots of guys have had more talent than Crosby but no superstar has ever had that kind of drive.

don't know about lots of more talented players. wasn't he talked as next big thing fairly early.

A lot of things can happen before he ever hits the NHL. Injuries, mental problems, drug and/or alcohol problems, inability to cope with the pressure, complacency, etc.

Way too much hype and way too early.

As someone else said, I'll believe it when I see it.

Next years trading deadline should be pretty hysterical. Teams out of the playoffs will be dumping talent on the cheap and playing with AHL lineups in an attempt to win the lottery, much like Pittsburgh use too.

Is it just me, or is this the weakest the OHL has been in years? I can't think of a weaker OHL year, except for maybe 2010-11?

I personally think that the team he played on last year compared to the team Crosby played on when he was playing in the Q as a rookie are much different.

I don't think McDavid will be better then Crosby, but possibly up to his potential. If he keeps playing the way he has been.

McDavid has the tools, in a similar fashion to how Crosby had the tools... The thing is, Crosby made the most out of his skill-set and never stopped improving, which is why he is where he's at today.

McDavid is a tremendous talent, but whether he'll make the most out of his talent is still unknown. Calling him a better prospect than Crosby is nothing more than an attempt at selling more magazines, in my opinion. Crosby did everything he could ever accomplish in the CHL on an individual level.

I've watched him play a lot the last few years and I buy the hype. Not sure he will be better than Crosby but he has the potential to be about as good..he could become better. To even be close to Sid will make him an incredible player.

Hmmmm I wonder what's going to sell better?

" Connor Mcdavid better than Crosby"

or

"Connor Mcdavid not better than Crosby"

This is all for money

McDavid is larger than Crosby. At 15 he had a bigger adjustment to his size than Crosby did. In my opinion McDavid could very well be better than Crosby is.

He's also not in the Q in 2003, he's in the OHL in 2013. Massive difference in quality of players they're playing against. He's on pace for over 100 points this season and he started slow, he's only going to get better.

I definitely disagree with that, the difference in quality really isn't all that meaningful, as others have said. There's no way to really measure that. Not to mention, Crosby was still named CHL player of the year, so he was the best player in Canada period at 16. McDavid isn't even the best player in the OHL right now.
