No Connor Bedard highlights this a.m. that's unfortunate, but will check back later in the p.m. to see how he is doing v Winnipeg.

So is he gonna be better than McDavid yes or no

I don't think so but he's going to be a superstar nonetheless. McDavid's skating alone just puts him on another level.

Wonder which teams are already thinking of tanking for him haha. San Jose is going to be a very bad then if all those contracts are still on the book. I think they are my favorites for the best odds to get him.

2 assists, 12/19 at the dot, 6 sog, while having an average game vs a really good team...this kid is just crazy good
Connor McDavid is the best athlete u25? bah!!, its Connor Bedard...

Would it be too much to expect like 4 points per game vs Moose Jaw and Swift Current?
who are not very good defensively (SCB : 57 goals against, MJW : 47 goals against)

Connor McDavid first 12 games : 14 points (5 goals, 4 primary assists, 5 secondary assists)*
Connor Bedard first 12 games : 22 points (8 goals, 13 primary assists, 1 secondary assist)

* Adam Pelech had 5 primary assists in McDavid's first 12 games BTW
and Connor Brown had 5 goals and 4 primary assists, he assisted 4/5 McDavid's first OHL goals

I’ll be sick to my stomach if he ends up a Flames player.

It’d be hilarious if the Pens bottomed out in 2022-23 and got Bedard.

You as well brother.

The rumours of Canada’s hockey demise were vastly overstated. The next generational player is before us right now and Wright ain’t so bad himself either. Bedard is the best player in the WHL at 15 years old, that is so far beyond incredible and hilarious to think about how good he is going to be by his draft year.

Along with a bunch of good young D men that we’ve had drafted the last couple years and upcoming (Makar, Byram, Drysdale, Power, Clarke, Lambos, etc.) future for Canada is looking good after the Golden Generation (Crosby, Bergeron, Weber, Keith, Price, etc.) hand off the reigns.

Bet he gets the call for World championships next year. USA sends college players all ghe time wouldn’t be surpised if Canada called him next year. Hughes went at 17 and if he keeps this up he’ll be better at 16 than Hughes was at 17

It wouldn’t be a reach to say, in current form, he could have played for Canada in Edmonton in January and wouldn’t have looked out of place

He looks like he has generational talent
If he keeps his development going I sure a lot of NHL teams will consider to tank hard for chance on his draft year

He’s kind of a Gretzky player. He’s not overwhelming anyone with his skating, but damn he’s smart, and can sense what’s going to happen.

I remember last year just watching some of his games on film I remember thinking he controlled the pace like Mario, so smooth and calm and can seemingly make moves standing still that open up space for everyone....obviously he doesn't have that reach but his demeanour with the puck reminded me of the Magnificent one.

better than McDavid at the same age?

I don't think so, McDavid was the superior skater and was showing glimpses of what hes doing now in the NHL already at 15. Bedard has a better shot by a lot but the skating was just so off the charts of McDavid it was like nothing anyone had ever seen.

Even if Bedard is better at many things I don't think he closes the gap enough that McDavid had in skating. Just my opinion.
