Ekblad did. His playoff beard from Barrie was ridiculous.

Bedard is going to grow for sure, though 5' 10" 178 isn't exactly small for a 15 year old. Will be interesting to see how much taller he gets and if he fills out. Sid obviously made it work at 5'9-10" and ~200.

I have a hard time believing hes 178
 
Sidney Crosby was drafted by Rimouski in June 2003 . He was 15 and 10 months.

He was 5.7 , 175 pounds at the time.

Bedard will be fine!!
 
I remember first reading about this kid a Hockey News magazine about 4 years ago or so and how he was training the same way McDavid did. That was enough to convince me how good this kid was going to be.
 
If he keeps this up he’ll definitely be invited to the World Junior camp and have a very good chance of making the team

Yeah, this is incredible.

He's torching the league at 15 like it's his draft year. And this is with an average team around him.
 
I thought the hype was a little bit overblown but I was optmistic. I never in a minute expected him to league the league in points at 15. Something to look forward to when they allow fans back in the rinks (I have Pats season tickets).

...IF we're playing hockey in September/October and there's a season....if he hits 30 pts. (15 goals 15 helpers) I'll be tickled pink. I will then look for big things in his 16 year old sophomore season.

Here was my take a year ago on young Bedard shortly after he was awarded ES. He has exceeded, surpassed, leaped over with ease my modest expectations. thrilled I am I tell ya! trilled.

Next 2 games (Brandon & Winnipeg) are gonna be a tough challenge, for him, to keep his streaks alive but who knows,
he has passed every eye test, every prediction, what ever, so far, so nothing would surprise me right now.

If he can, 2 games after that (Moose Jaw, Swift Current), should be much easier.

This kid is pretty clearly the best 15 year old we've seen since Crosby.

I don't know if that makes him a better prospect than McDavid, whose size and skating ability made his game more transferable and probably gave him the higher ceiling, but Bedard's shot is already NHL level.

I'd say he's on par with McDavid in terms of prospect rating at 15, will be interesting to see if he can keep level with McDavid's development curve as a 17 year old.

How would you guys say is the level of the WHL this year considering every team has 15 year olds on their team except one team ? Is it the same as previous years ? The kid is tearing the league apart lol

It's worse, but not worse enough that a 15 year old putting up the numbers he is isn't extremely impressive.
